12packAbs Diary

Well....I love beer...I may have mentioned that before...sorry about all the beer talk folks...it's not exactly something that assists in weight loss and getting into better shape...

This morning I tried on a pair of pants that I used to wear up until about this time last year, before the big bang and the great expansion of the universe know as my waistline. The last few times I tried them on....I knew as soon as I pulled them up that they wouldn't fit, and I couldn't get them done up. So this morning I tried them on, and I got them on!!!! Wow...what a surprise. Now I'm not quite ready to get them back into the rotation yet, as they're a little more snug than I'd be comfortable wearing...but soon...very soon... :)

THERE IS HOPE!!!!!

Thanks Mal! I have two pairs of the same pants in a different colour and they were my favorites...they fit so well...I'll be a happy boy when I can strut around town in those again ;)

wow, I come to visit your journal 12pack and the ladies make me crave a beer.

geezus, I come in to check up on you and I start ranting about beer.

Oh no, it's not the ladies - it's HIS fault!

Well....I love beer...

See? I rest my case!

THERE IS HOPE!!!!!

Yes! There is hope - and it's nice to see non scale visual signs of accomplishments!

Good Job.

Oh, and you know what I miss most about not going to karate?
Sparring.

All speculation...your honor...I demand a mistrial :D

Sparring.

There are times that I really enjoy it...especially the stuff that we do. I just hate being winded and not being able to move fast...I guess I just have to keep at it...I get a little better every class.

Well, if Mal gets to be judge - then I win :D

Yep - every day...one day at a time.

...every day...one day at a time.

Words of wisdom...

Food yesterday

Breakfast: Egg whites on a slice of whole wheat bread
Snack: 1/3 cup of raw almonds, apple, 1/2 scoop protein powder with water
Lunch: Tuna on a whole wheat wrap, large baby spinach salad with olive/flax oil & balsamic vinegar
Snack: Baby carrots and 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Dinner: Macaroni & cheese and a couple of slices of turkey breast
After karate: Nachos & salsa and 3 pcs of dark chocolate (I had the munchies)

Workout last night was relatively short and light. I may do a short workout tonight at home. The past two weekends have been pretty heavy training, and this weekend is a weekend karate boot camp...should be interesting...and tiring...so I can take it a little easier for the next couple of days without feeling guilty.

Protein bad!

I hear ya on the munchies ;) :D
And don't worry - I haven't forgotten about protein! I am slowly building up although I have to admit  I may be suffering from similar side-effects to the ones you had  That just isn't good!

Yeah...especially for people in close proximity

I had it the first day or two, and then it subsided...maybe it just takes your body a little time for the adjustment period with additional protein. Make sure you get some with all of your main meals as a start!

Oh man...I've sparred with some guys that almost knocked me over before I got gloves on.

It's a TOTAL unfair advantage!!

unsportsmanlike conduct?

is it unsportsmanlike if you can't help it  ;)

The conversations around here are fantastic. So glad I found WLF! :D :D

Judgement call eh?

What was worse was their breath!
I made it really clear that brushing teeth before sparring was a GOOD thing ;)

Oh no! That's a definate 5 yard penalty.

It's no good working out with smelly people!

(note to self: check personal hygene before working out and make sure you aren't smelly)

I was doing drills with a guy the other day that smelled like coconut butter. I thought that was a little strange, but what the heck, he smelled ok. Better that than a smelly guy, right M?
