12packAbs Diary

And you still haven't checked in with your diary - I had to recover it from the bowls of page 3!

Geesh!

I have to do all the work around here!

Morning M... :)

Food yesterday

Breakfast: Organic whole grain cereal with 2% milk
Snack: Banana, Almonds
Lunch: Tuna in a whole wheat wrap, large baby spinach salad with olive/flax oil & balsamic vinegar
Snack: Baby carrots and 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Snack: Apple & protein shake (1/2 scoop)
Dinner: Brown rice pasta with tomato sauce and italian sausage
Snack: Nachos and salsa (I've been snacking on those for like 3 nights in a row now...)

No workout last night, and I won't likely do one tonight either. I have to pack and get ready for boot camp this weekend. I'm feeling pretty tired the last couple of days...I need to try and get in bed a little earlier tonight...tomorrow is going to be a really long day.

Food today

Today I woke up late and I'm disorganized...so lunch today is likely going to be a cheat meal....I think I'll make a trip accross the street to get a slice of pizza...

Breakfast: Organic whole grain cereal with 2% milk
Snack: Yogurt and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese

Pizza? Why does everyone keep tempting me with pizza?!
Good morning - or actually afternoon now... :D

Have fun at boot camp. that supper sounded good... do you have any leftovers? Oh what i would do if i had the money i would pay someone to cook for me and slap me whenever i went outside the boundrys of my diet... someone like you! Italian sausage pasta *Drool* and its GOOD for you!

Sorry about that Rachie...

I knew I'd get in trouble from someone for that...I was just really disorganized this morning, and I don't have a lot of cash with me...or a lot of time today...it's just so convenient to walk accross the street and get a slice for $3....I'll get back to my usual food tomorrow...no more temptations, I promise :)

Hey Seny...I just LOVE pasta...but I'm trying to cut back a little on the amount of carbs that I eat...trying to eat more fruits and veggies and lean protein with less bread, rice, potatoes and pasta. I have started using better choices when I do eat that stuff.....pumpernickel and sourdough bread (or at least a wholegrain bread if i can't get either of those two), basmati rice, yams and brown rice pasta.

This weekend should be fun (if it doesn't kill me)...

:D thanks for the cute apology :D I'm okay, just teasing ya! - my boss almost fell off her chair this morning when she saw how much food I brought to work :) All good stuff though!!! But I am going out this evening for an after-work drink so may be tempted by naughty bar food  Sounds like you have a big weekend at boot camp so pizza isn't too bad. Besides, if you can't have something bad once in a while, what kind of life is that!?! :D

edit: what's up with me and the smiley faces anyway?? Think I might use a couple too many in my messages!?! Sorry!

I miss pizza...we only have one little pizza place here, and it's not a chain. Not nearly the same flavor as everyone else's...

Boot camp, eh???

Lots of smiles are good Rachie....can't have too many of those ;)

DQ, I think some of my favourite pizzas are the non-commercial chain ones...but it sounds like the one you have isn't the best? Well, as long as it's decent pizza....

Seny - Sourdough is one of the better bread choices...so it's better than having regular bread. (Lower on the Glycemic Index, your body doesn't have as high of a spike in glucose and insulin levels). You should limit the amount of bread that you eat though. Bread is filling, but it doesn't have a whole lot of nutritional value as compared to fruits & veggies, lean meat, fish, etc. Have some, but in moderation.

Very best way to eat in a nutshell: Whole, unprocessed foods, tons of vegetables, some fruit and lean meats & fish.

See - you got that doctor title for a good reason ;)

Oh, not to mention that bed side manner...
... :p

that's what i miss most about new york city -the pizza - living in new england they don't know bubkiss about pizza - it was awful and i can't get behind chicago style pizza - deep dish pizza is good for what it is -but it's not pizza :D i suppose that's better though :D

oh the horror -its gotta be brick oven, thin crust with fresh mozzarella from totonnes on coney island or patsys under the brooklyn bridge - you'll never go back to the other stuff again :D

I suppose that's a good thing really.

And nice of us to clog up Doc's pages with pizza...or beer...
