Adopt a special project--Me

Here goes-- I need help!! I decided that I am going to do a figure show-- I needed a new goal since I was getting lazy in the gym.

Let me begin by stating that I am 45 (yuk-just had a b-day). Since I refuse to age gracefully I figured WTH--If I pick a show in another state no one will know!!:laughing2::laughing2::laughing2:

I can put on muscle on the top half...I will require assistance about what is the right amount though. My legs are just horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I carry all my fat there. Not to mention I have old lady legs...:drooling1:

Currently my stats:
Age: 45
Weight: 149 lbs
Height: 5'8 1/2 inches

Measurments: Chest 36
Belly Button 29
Hips 37 1/2
Thighs 22
Calves 13 3/4
arms 11 1/2
Body fat is current 16.2% -- Its been coming down slowly Started at 19.6. My goal is to get it around 14% -- So when it gets closer to the show I won't have to go drop it alot.

I will attempt to attach picures--I will welcome any and all help.

Lookin' good...old lady legs my @$$

Great progress! You look fantastic!

I'm sure there are a lot of folks who can offer you some support here, but have you looked at this site:

It might help you with your specific goal.

Great work!

Cheers,
Diane

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the offer!!!

I really would like a killer leg work out. However; due to one to many police academies and scaling 6 ft privacy fences my lower back is not up to it. Or it could just be old age.:animal: Having said that my squats are top limit 65 lbs. I also do 500 walking lunges a day 6 days a week, still have 3 weeks left of this:violent:. I realize that is overtraining the legs but it is helping to thin them out.

I work legs 3 times a week. (I've just switched from 2 to 3 about 3 weeks ago)
For now at least
Leg press 4/10/95
Leg extension 4/10/55
Squats 4/10/42
Split squats on bench 4/10/30
Pile Squats 4/10/25
Walking Lunges 4/20/20
Cable pull through 4/10/55

I have just started back running can only go for about 20 minutes but will get it up to 45 if it kills me---:bncry: I hate cardio.....I also teach a 45 minute step aerobic class 3x's a week.

Diane,

Thanks for the link....They look amazing--so now maybe I can just photoshop and steal some legs.:beerchug:

LOL, yeah, I could use a few of their body parts, you...you already look like one of them! :D

However, they are also very good at helping with figure competitions. Seen some good advice and lots of support over there. Thought they could be a nice addition to this place. :cool3:

Humor attached

Here is an update...Body fat is now 14.8 %-- If I was under 22 it would be 13.6 -WTH...Anyway no since whinning:bncry: I forgot how long it actually takes to get the perfect body... Oh wait, never having had one.... Crap, its going to never come. I guess I just better enjoy the journey. The attached pictures are suitable for framing for Halloween!!! But they must contain an advisory for small children and pets.;)

If I had listened to friends and family, when they were telling me I would never grow any appreciable amount of muscle in my 40's, I would have sunk my ship before I even began. I took everything they said, and tossed in the trash......where it rightfully needed to be.

I was also told that I wouldn't lose the last portion of fat I wanted off, because of my age, and this too I proved wrong.

How did I do it? I was walking with an educated stick in my hand, and they were walking in the dark.

I am not the one with egg on the face at the moment.

If you want this last portion of tissue to come off, then you need to pick up an educated stick within diet and fitness and apply it to your personal particulars, and keep adjusting until you find something that works. And, keep telling yourself when you fail, that the answer is there; you just haven't found the one that works yet--but it is there.

I know, I have been down this road. I understand the differences in trouble spots between men and women, but this still holds true.

It isn't your age hold you back or preventing you from going further, but your mind will, if you allow it to.

The power of your mind, yes......its the power supply for your fitness quest.

First and foremost, understanding how integral your brain is to bodybuilding and fitness goals; it will change your physique quicker than any diet, workout plan or supplement will ever do. However, you put them together as a team, and you have just created the most intense and most powerful machine ever created.

Only the best of the best ever fully realize how vital the mental aspect of bodybuilding and earning a fitness goal really is. The mind saturates all aspects of bodybuilding and ones fitness goal quest, and can make or break any physique or fitness goal. It is so important that in my opinion, it should be one of the first issues one attempts to master, as it will positively affect every other aspect of your fitness agenda. It is, in my opinion, a continual mind game with yourself. A chess match you must win.

You have made some tremendous progress. Give yourself a lot of credit! You have done very well! Outstanding! However, you just may have tweak yourself just a tad........more......to get this last portion off..........up to it? Yep! I know you are! :)

Educate yourself all you can. The answer lies primarily in your diet, and how you can "manipulate" your calories, macro-nutrients (carbs, protein, fats), and possibly your training routine, and using your prior history to guide your opinion in what you believe you need to do (to keep this short and sweet).

You keep on Rocken.........When BF gets low, its hard for most people, and this isn't really anything new, many have accomplished getting it off, and so can you..........

ROCK IT!

Best wishes

Chillen
