Raising The Bar

Before i get to the gym tonight, iv estimated that ill of eaten roughly 3000 cals, and thats before the gym. After the gym will be my post workout meal which will include chicken breast (which is waiting in the fridge) with mashed potatoes, broccoli and gravy!

I will get the approximate cals for that meal and im guessing ill of eating aroung 3500 cals today. :)

Todays session threatened to be a complete washout. As I walked into the gym everything I needed for my routine was being used! No joke, everything.

I started by doing the last 2 exercises on the schedule first, so;

Good Mornings
2x10 @ 132lbs

This is pretty much a warm up now so I'll have to increase weight

Reverse Med ball lunges

1x10 right leg
4x10 left leg (f)

The last few times I've tried doing this I get a really sharp pain in my pubic region, any ideas as to what this could be?

Pull Ups
6x3 @ BW
(+about 10-15 Chins)

What about that! I must have lost weight because I'm doing bodyweight exercises! Next thing you know I'll be spouting crap about BW FBW's being just as effective as heavy lifting ;)

BB Rows
3x3 @ 99lbs
2x3 @ 132
1x5 @ 154

Finally....

Deadlifts
6x3 @ 308

I need to up this weight, I might even go for the 400lbs next Tuesday

Explain. Also you did 1x10 with your right leg but 4x10 with your left?

I had to stop because it was hurting, the pain isn't great enough to stop me but I thought it would be pretty dumb to continue

The first time I got the pain I thought I must have had something sharp on the waist band of my shorts but it's obvious now that it's coming from within. It just feels like a pin sticking into me, sharp, unpleasant but nothing severe

I don't know if I would make a habbit of doing more sets on one leg than the other. After my hip thing, my right quad has gotten noticeably bigger than my left.

I'm going to start bulking properly once I've done a proper food shop which should be tomorrow. I've only dropped from 234 down to 227 but doing that made me realise I can drop the fat pretty quick so I'll postpone cutting properly for about another 12-14 months.

My second child is due in June next year so I won't have time to enjoy the summer next year so it's time to start planning for summer 2009

By June/July 2009 hopefully I'l be around 275lbs and about 15% BF (I have fully visible 6 pack at around 15%)

I think I've been slacking on my ME days so once I've upped the calories to maybe 4,500 a day I'm going to start squating heavier and next year I'm hoping to start Snatching if my gym will let me (I doubt it)

Lol, that wasn't intentional, I started with the intention of doing an equal number of reps on each leg but stopped at 4 due to the pain

Back in my calorie surplus and it feels good. I actually feel powerful enough to lift decent amounts again. Shame I'm gonna have to put up with the fat round my waist for a while though. I've decided that 230lbs is too light for a 6'2" guy looking for decent muscle size

I've now passed 2,000 posts and I need to think of a title to go under my username.

I'll rep anyone who comes up with an idea cool enough to use :D

I need to do that too! Everyone keeps nagging about it :p But it's a lot more fun when someone decides to put one on you to bust your balls without you knowing :D

I think I'm getting the hang of this high rep thing, I managed to complete just about every rep today which is a first, and I didn't feel like I was about to pass out at the end. I think part of that is upping my calories again

Routine was all messed up today, none of the exercises were in order due to lack of equipment. One thing that makes me laugh though; part of the reason I'm have trouble getting the equipment I want now is that people seem to be copying me! Some of the PT's have got their clients doing overhead lifting with the BB and doing squats and deads too. That never used to happen before I did it, deads were only ever done by me while others looked on with raised eyebrows.

Squats
2x12 @ 220lbs
1x12 @ 231

DB Shoulder Press
3x12 @ 70lbs
(I know this sucks but my stamina on over head stuff sucks big time)

Overhead Shrugs
2x10 @ 99lbs

*Split Squats
2x10 @ 110 lbs (each leg)

*Bench Press
2x12 @ 143
1x11 @ 154

*Performed as set

Tricep Pressdown
15 x 132
12 x 121

I just finished reading a few posts around the forum and I'd like to point out a couple of things

1) Wit is not a word, I know you mean with but I've had enough of dumbed down speech so I no longer acknowledge anyone who either uses it in speech or writing

2) Dat and Dis are also not words

Sorry for being such a snob today, I just see no excuse for failing to learn how to speak your native language

Not the best days training today, I think my pre-workout calories were too low (about 1300 by 2pm). I started OK but by the end of the session I could barely lift an empty barbell

Deadlifts
3x12 @ 231lbs (final rep missed)

Lat Pull Down
12 x 154
2x12 @ 139

Face Pulls
2x10 @ 154

Bicep Curl machine
2x15@ 110

Seated Row
12 x 154
2x12 @ 123 (Totally shattered at this point)

Single Leg Romanian Deadlifts
12 x 132
7 x 132 - Grip incapable of lifting for longer at this point

I know the order was screwed up again but the gym's getting busy and too many people are doing my routine now so getting to use stuff is hard.

Today there were actually benches discarded and shoved into corners as people were doing proper lifting, LMAO, how things change
