LaMa. You know I was always told that snakes are particularly aggressive in the mating season but had never looked up whether they actually do protect their young when they are born. I had probably just assumed they did. It seems that female tiger snakes provide no care to their newborn. Feb is usually the time to take particular care, as that's when they are very active. This year seems to be very different. I just read that's it a good idea to place small containers of water on the perimeter of your property & that might stop them coming closer. It's worth a try. The wallabies would like it too. It would require lugging water to each of them, but I think I will do it. I have water buckets near the house for sheep & slightly lower ones for wallabies.
Amy- Thank you. The document stress was finance-related, but also a result of my obviously over-eager decluttering of paperwork. I really couldn't think of a way to get out of it, but in the end, found a way. I struck someone from the tax office who was incredibly helpful. I was so happy I could have cried. I told him he made my day.
The smoke has stopped me getting outside & I am really missing that. It's very smoky again today. I hope it lifts.
