Glad to hear your second test came out fine and your bloods look good. Best of luck with the meditation; just remember it takes time for it to start "working".
Thanks, LaMa. I have been meditating every day for a little while & think I am seeing the benefits already. I feel the need to find a class, Rob (bensanon) has recommended the headspace app & I'll have a listen to that later when I am on my own.
Hi, Amy. It's a bit hard to keep up with my diary

Our son sounded much better last night & quite philosophical. He said that he can't say or do anything more than he has. She had a very busy day at work & didn't go around to see him, so he still doesn't know 100% if it is to break up up, but he seems to think it is. She says that she doesn't think it is fair to him to only be able to see him occasionally, but he has told her that's ok with him. He really is very kind & caring.
Do you have a garden? I know you once mentioned growing sunflowers, do you grow your own vegetables too? Since I have been here and reading your diary its been winter in Tasmania so maybe you just haven't been talking about it. Your growing season will be starting soon, and ours ending.
Hi, Rob. Yes, we do, but only have one fenced off area that was originally made for our dogs & is on the wrong (south) side of the house. The north side of the house is open as that's where we drive in & our entrance is that side. Above the house is very rocky & uneven. We still grow lots of greens & herbs almost all year round & I have more seeds planted. We try to grow tomatoes (they don't usually ripen much) & zucchinis. We have so much wildlife up here that it's hard to keep them out. Possums get into our apple trees & wallabies jump up into pots left on the north side. I wouldn't mind having a veggie yard out in the middle of the paddock, but I don't think we have the strength or energy to start one now & would have to pay someone to build it anyway. I don't have sunflowers but can't remember who does.
Good the tests were ok Cate . I'm hoping for a better cholesterol the next time I go.
Hope R is ok today.
Thanks, Petal xo
Sounds like you are doing well over all; and it doesn't sound like the cholesterol is a major problem, which is good.
Thanks, Shell xo
I think you gave R good advice. I hope things work out for him.
Thanks, Em, xo. Me too
I am attempting to do 5:2 today. It has been a long time since I last tried. I think that Michael Mosley changed it to 800 cals 2 days a week, but when I did it years ago it was 500 for women & 600 for men. I'll aim for 600 I think. The other 5 days you eat to <your TDEE. I used to try to wait until midday to eat anything, but because my cardio & GP don't want me doing that I won't. This morning I had 1/2 an avocado with 1 hard-boiled egg & a little home-made vinaigrette. 144 cals.
Lunch is going to be a venison & vegetable soup. WAG guess 200 cals.
Dinner might be the same, with maybe another egg.
Here goes.......
