I can picture you getting around with headphones on doing housework. Maybe that's what I need to do to get motivated to clean.
I love seeing your excitement at the possibility of getting to your goal weight for your vacation :)

Ladies housework is a great exercise especially to music . I actually just dance if a good tune comes on . I love music . We subscribe to a family Spotify now so for about 10 euro a month the 4 of us have unlimited access to so much music and podcasts . It's on our phones and also my playlist is linked into the house tv so can blast it while cleaning
 
Every week my mom would throw us out with the order to not come in for anything other than emergencies, crank up the stereo as high as it would go and rip through the entire house. Only realized she hated cleaning as much as I do years later :D
 
Hi Cate! It really helps having something interesting to listen to while cleaning. It's like having company helping instead of it being the world's most boring, unappreciated task to do! Is your vacation motivating you, too? Maybe you aren't as vain as me, but I am so looking forward to swimming in a normal sized bathing suit! You only have a few pounds to lose though, so maybe your tummy doesn't show like mine does!!

I did 5 miles of cleaning total yesterday! That makes me feel so happy because no one but me knows what I did, and I would forget and wonder what in the world I did yesterday!! The Fitbit should have a Super Cleaner reward badge!

My daughter wants spotify for her bus rides. Hearing how much you like it, Petal, maybe we will get it for her for a Christmas present! Not having a smart phone, I forget there are such modern conveniences!

LaMa, I think I will take after your mother again today and rip through the rest of the house with my headphones cranked up! Company this weekend - so good excuse to get everything nice again!
 
Hi, Marsia. My weight creeping up motivated me more than anything I think. My stomach (muffin top) is really irritating & the part of me & I grab & imagine myself without it. I had the free Spotify on my phone for a while. I'm going to Spring clean our house while G is away this week I think.

Today I looked up places to stay for vacation, and really had trouble finding things in our price range, so spent over half a day on it and didn't get exercise. I am going to make sure I get lots of exercise this weekend. It really feels weird sitting still for that long now!
 
I haven't done anything about booking our next holiday. I thought Sept, but G thought May. I'll do some more homework this week, as well as Spring cleaning.

Marsia I am going to try and do lots of exercise this weekend too . My stomach feels well in the way of everything at the moment . It had been shrinking but funny how a few days without proper exercise makes it blobby again.
Marsia does your daughter have a smart phone ? She will love Spotify. Yesterday I searched for a song I liked and then it played some similar style ones which were lovely
 
Cate, I keep picturing you swimming happily in the bright turquoise waters of the Greek Islands with all the beautiful whitewashed cliff houses behind you! I'm sure you are going to have the BEST time!

We just booked everything and found some lovely homes to rent in just the places we wanted to go - eastern part of Oahu where the foliage is lush and jungle-y and the beaches are nicest but not too far from yummy food in Honolulu, and found a place in an eastern valley of Kauai where all the mountain climbers go and there are lots of waterfalls in the rivers through the jungle. So we should be all set for adventuring!

Today I went for an hour bike ride with my daughter through the forest, and it burned 450 calories, which my daughter says is a Starbucks donut worth of calories! So I can actually off-road with my little bike with the big basket on the front and which is meant for sidewalks at best! Some serious mountain bikers looked at me funny zipping down the treacherous hill with my bike bell happily ringing uncontrolably when I hit each bump.
I also lost a little more by weigh-in this morning and am down to 192.8 (26.2 pounds lost so far), even after sitting on my bum all day yesterday and not getting any exercise at all. It makes no sense at all as to when the weight magically comes off in the night or sneakily goes back up suddenly!!

Great, we can be long-distance exercise buddies! My stomach is usually one of the last things to firm up. I probably should be doing sit-ups as part of my weight lifting regime. That's great yours is toning up so well, and I bet the blobby is water weight because I don't think the fat is that fast and stealthy enough that it can appear and disappear in a couple of days (thank goodness!)

We are waiting until the last possible moment to get our daughter a smart phone because we want her to not be glued to it. Was your daughter ok at staying off of it most of the time? She does has an ipad and wants spotify so she can download songs to listen to on the bus ride. I love music sites where they show similar songs. I was looking at a site for showing the bar chords for guitar and found so many great songs she would love to play.

Being lighter after a day of sitting around when before you were newly back to exercise is no surprise at all: your muscles are getting some rest and regenerating, which lets them give up some of that water they were holding on to.
 
Marsia that weight is sure dropping off you . That's serious weight loss and is most definitely going to continue with the keto . I wish I had the will power to join in but I know I wouldn't stick to it but fab fab work . I'm jealous in a really nice way . Lol

My daughter loves her iPhone . Yes she uses it but tbh not too much for social media . Likes games , photos , videoing and editing . She has a MacBook too so they are linked but she uses it for projects . She loves you tube . I personally had no issue with her and the phone . Think she was 13 when she first got it . But there were and still are things I hear about kids with phones so yes be aware and very careful . Imo communication with your kids is the key and from I can make out you have that Sussed .

Decided I would do some biking this winter so long as we drive somewhere flatter !
 
Hi Petal and LaMa! That makes sense about the water weight. It's nice to know there is a reason that weight goes mysteriously up and down like that!

Petal, I think we may do an iphone pretty soon. They do seem to come in very handy and she hasn't lost her ipad yet which was one of my big concerns with an expensive phone, and she doesn't get obsessed with games, so she will probably be ok.

Thanks for the nice compliments about my weight loss! I feel like I practiced for low carb by doing some of the paleo diet and getting off of most sugar and simple carbs before this, so it isn't as hard as if I were trying to get off sugar and also start a totally counter-intuttive diet at the same time! I only plan to stay on this diet until I get to goal weight, because I want to be able to eat all veggies, not just leafy greens. I may drop most grains permanently though. I don't really miss them much except quinoa which makes me feel good, so I will probably add a little back in. We actually just got back from my daughter performing downtown with her band, and we went out to nice fresh Mexican food and I skipped the tortillas, but cheated a little and did eat the beans. I do think it's helping to restrict carbs, but I don't think I could consistently get as low are 20 carbs a day like the keto people do, especially because of the dietary fiber and being regular. Eating healthy fats does make it so I don't have cravings, so I like that part of the diet a lot!

I am really happy we bought a bike rack and can go cruise around all different places now. It's like mini-vacations!
 
You sound so happy Marsia. I can just picture your family tootling around having mini-vacations. Lovely! xo

I thought indigestible carbs could be deducted from the total? That´d make staying regular less of a problem.
