Cate's Diary

Not sure if reassured that even you get sick of adulting sometimes or bummed out because that means I´ll probably never really get used to it :)

It sounds like you made a good decision having the wake catered. you don't need the stress of looking after the food too.

What is a mozzie?

Yep. Sorry LaMa. You may never get used to adulting. I'm OK with it some of the time, but I do get sick of making decisions & having to do things I would really rather not do.
ShariLee- I think so too. A whole lot less stress! Mozzies are mosquitos. :) We Aussies love to have nicknames for anything & everything. If a name is short, lengthen it, if it's long, shorten it......

It's a lovely day today. I am so relieved that I made the decisions I needed to make yesterday & the calls I had to make. This time next week I will be on a plane. 2 days later I will be on my way back to Melbourne, ready to come back home again. I really hope it all goes well! One thing I don't like about myself is that I am always looking forward to something being over so that I don't have the stress anymore. Why I don't like feeling this way is because it feels like I am wishing my life away. It's a very hard thing to overcome something that you have been doing all of your life. I'm a doer & a planner, but still I stress about it all. I wish I could just enjoy!

We have another club coming to visit tomorrow & G & I have to organise morning tea & a bbq for them. When our players go down to visit them they put on a huge spread as their members all bring something along. Our members are slack & expect us to just do it. Like bunnies, we do.

We have to go into town now & try to rustle up something resembling home-cooked fare. G is going to cook the bbq at home & then I will warm it up in foil trays on the bbq tomorrow & serve them as they go past the clubhouse. Oh, what fun!:(

I must be in moaning mode this morning. I had better try to snap out of it! Moan over.........xoxo Cate

Your golf club is in for a major surprise when you two step down. They might even discover there were no brownies helping you out. Please resist the urge to jump in "just this one time" after the change. Let them try and - if necessary - fail. They´re adults too, after all.

A moan is good for the soul on occasion, Cate. Don't beat yourself up. Not surprised you're not looking forward to it.. Don't be hard on yourself xx

Hi LaMa & Hana. I'm too cranky to even attempt to express how I feel about what is happening at the golf club. We had to go back out tonight for a meeting. It was not good. It almost feels like a hostile takeover. There are 3 new people on Committee & they are obviously going to make major changes & they are not going to be popular. I'll wait & see. G & I are not happy about how we see the club going. We adult. I have a feeling that things are going to get a bit nasty.
I think I might just head for bed. We have to be out there early tomorrow as we have about 16 visitors as well as our Vets & we provide morning tea & a bbq lunch....*sigh* zzzzzzz xoxoC

You'll make it through. People are afraid of changes and scared folks turn nasty quickly. Maybe try not going in for anything other than playing golf for a while (no meetings!) Until it all blows over. Which it will, in time.

I am always amazed at how people can take a relaxing game of golf and turn it into a sideshow-lol. Sounds like LaMa has the idea. Just play the golf and try not to get sucked into the drama for a while!

I will really try Cowboy!
Thanks Katy xo

I hate drama. I just had to take a step back from one of my best friends, because that's all she ever was, and I couldn't stand it anymore. I hope things get figured out, so you can just enjoy your game. :)

Mmm drama llamas - stay well away. It's a shame people feel the need to change and control things but if it's out of your hands for now just roll with it xx

Thanks Jen & Hana xoxo

While I spent the day out at the golf club, doing the bbq & the bar, I had a relaxing day, where I did not think of anything much. One of our Vets started whingeing about the new co-captain & I told him I didn't want to hear it. Later he started again & I said Dennis, go away! The visitors are a really sociable lot & I enjoy serving them. They have lots of life in them.

I'm off to play with the women today. It's G's birthday! I feel a bit funny about heading off, but it's a sponsor day & hardly any women play anymore. If we don't get enough then we don't have the sponsor day. I'll go with him to 8-ball tonight & drive.
I had better get moving!

Yeah, just relax and have a good time...

Happy Birthday to G! It is good you shut down the whiner. People that whine drive me crazy. I always tell them to stop whining and do something about it! I don't think they understand and like to complain to whoever will listen.
