@cate - it probably is easier... but I have been smoking on-and-off for 6 years or so. The good thing is that I have managed to quit several times, the bad thing is that I somehow pick the habit up again and again. This time I am motivated to quit again (I know I can do that) and, when that is done, I will take a step further and make myself less sensitive to starting again.

About losing weight: I don't see any results on the scale now (weight loss is really going in a saw-like pattern for me... I can be 96 kg one day, and 93 kg the next day).
I am sure that I did burn calories more than I ate. You may have noticed that I don't really count calories, I just estimate it. This works quite well for me, at least so far.
I expect to weigh around 92.5 in a few days, perfectly on schedule.
