The Tattooed Lady

Ash has been such a big help today. I'm so proud of her. She's helping me do laundry. She can start the washer and dryer, add the clothes to the washer then move them to the dryer, fold the clothes when the dryer is done, etc.

On the food front, things was little overboard at breakfast, but with Stingo's help (thanks again honey), it's doing much, much better. It's kindof one of those things when people suggest things and you actually look at the cal and what not, you go "do'h why didn't I think of that". Just proves you can't do this alone. It's helps to have people that can steer you in the right direction.

I can't keep up with the changing diets (i.e. vegetarian, vegan, etc). There is so many of them these days. I won't put down anybody for what they eat, to each their own!

Yeah, I can't keep up either. Personally I could never be a vegan though. I like meat and cheese to much to ever be without it. I'm not sure there is anything I'd give up ever. Eat less of it maybe but never give it up LOL

Like chips. Seriosly I could eat an entire bag on my own, and I don't mean the small individual bags either. That's why I don't buy any. I love them all too much to practice restraint.

My poor girls, once I got a call from a parent (at a sleepover) asking if it was ok that my daughter 'parked' herself in front of the chip bowl for fear that she may have had an allergy because of the speed at which she was eating them LOL. I had to explain that I just don't buy any for the house so when she's around them it's like a huge treat. LOL.

I'm the same way, espically with potato sticks. They are the bomb, let me tell you. I have 6 bags in the pantry but have not opened one bag. I know if I opened them, the whole bag would be gone.

Hahahaha. This is so relevant. I don't buy any junk food at all for fear of temptation, but my roomie torments me with all the stuff I love constantly. It makes me suspect she's making me a part of some project for her psych class, 'cause she's not usually cruel. For me it's sweetened coconut, pepperoni sticks (only one particular brand and flavor, most of them suck) and potato chips.

Edit: Moonbeam, I used to love anything to do with milk products, then I did some reading that basically destroyed milk for me. I didn't realize it at the time, but afterwards I slowly phased milk and milk products out of my diet entirely, excepting the occasional cheat meal, without really intending to (,except for protein supplements, of course).

Also, I just fired off that recipe.

On the subject of oatmeal (I think you said you were trying new oatmeal recipes? If not, sorry for the random):

What I do is take half a cup of raw oats (old-fashioned, or rolled), half a cup of frozen mixed berries and half a cup of water, put it into a wide and shallow bowl, then zap it for two minutes in the microwave. Stir it up really good and throw in a packet or two of splenda (if you so desire, it isn't really necessary). It's very yummy, and quick.

I stopped adding the whey I used to because it murders the taste for me. I just eat it with some meat or egg whites on the side...which I suppose is a weird taste combo, but I don't mind. Prepared the way I've described, you're looking at 190-200 calories. With a scoop of whey, 300 cals.

You're most welcome. Forgot to add..if you like your oatmeal nice and mushy, zap it for an extra 30-60s. I like mine soft enough not to be chewy, but still fairly solid, if that makes sense.

Yes, that makes sense and as for this morning, I made this. By the time it was done, it came out like a cookie, but I added milk, so it became softer. I also added strawberries. It does taste like a cookie and it was oh so good. It was high in fat, but it was worth it. I don't consider it a cheat, but it wouldn't want it everyday.

It was, let me tell you. For supper I'm making another recipe except for the fact that I don't have enough tomato sauce, so I'm using pizza sauce instead (but the same amount of oz), so I probably upped the cals a bit, but we'll see how it turns out.

*Edit - Forgot to mention that I used shells and cheese instead of regular macroni and cheese*

Ok, well don't tell me what that is LOL. I don't drink milk at all (aside from what it takes to soak up my dry cereal when I eat it) but I do love cheese--in moderation of course. That's another thing I don't buy on a regular basis. Mainly becuase good cheeses are so darn expensive!!

My mom can't drink milk so when she eats her cereal she has enough to soak it up.

Supper turned out to be the bomb, even Ash liked it..:D Greene wasn't even going to try it. It didn't sound good to him, which is alright because there's more for me, defintely for the leftovers.

Oh, don't worry..that kind of information, I keep to myself. No sense ruining life for everyone. :D

Sounds like greene needs whipping into shape. ;)

He's not big on italian, so I have to fix him something different on those nights. Ash has a two hour delay, so she doesn't have to go school on Monday. They didn't do the alternating schedule this time.

Made my goal(thanks again Stingo)..:D Fat - 29%, Carbs - 46%, Protein - 25%. I didn't wake up hungry again, but was way under on calories.

Meal 1 - baked oatmeal, coffee, milk
Meal 2 - chicken, stir-fry vegetables, bread, tea
Meal 3 - goulash, bread, tea

Ash doesn't go back to school until Tuesday so she has a 5 day weekend...:D We have Greene's son this weekend, so it will be busy I'm sure.

I found a recipe I want to try tomorrow night. It's chicken enchilidas and I'm going to have rice w/it. I've never made them before, so this should be fun.

Today was their party at school. I admit I did cheat little bit. I had piece and half of fruit pizza, cookie and cupcake. The plan is not to cheat this weekend so I hope I can stick to it.

Can we try and keep it clean...:D

OMG! LMAO!! That should be put in out of context thread!! :p I'm bad at wrapping the quotes just so yas know but what Tony was quoting Sheri saying was hilarious!
