Luvmydane's Journal

Hi :) Great diary! Keep up the great work.

BTW, I think we have one thing in common. We're both crazy about our danes! Sent you a PM. ;)

Looks good, it always helps to keep a log of what you're doing, it definiitely makes you remember the small details.

How's the diet been going? I noticed in your post about your diet a few days ago that you only had 4 meals throughout the day. Regardless of your caloric intake, in my opinion, it would be best to break up your intake over 5-8 meals. 6 is ideal, trying to eat every 2-3 hours.

A girl on NROL, this cant be happening, j/k. :) Good luck with your training. Im on FL 1, then FL 2, then maybe S1. Not sure yet. Ill be keeping an eye on this log.

Hi AJP. Yep i usually eat 5 times a day.. dont know what happened that day.. THanks for the advice. I try to post my diet at nite but sometimes Im up too late studying to post it and then I forget.. I can usually post the workouts in the morning after I workout.

And Tony, yes a female on NROL! Lovin it! Yep it kinda makes me upset that NROL is only ''speaking to males'', just in the language and stuff it uses... A gal can do any of that stuff and should!;) What is "lifting like a woman", anyway?! BLAH. :p I'm as girly as a girl gets but I still wanna be muscled up!

WORKOUT TODAY:
HIIT sprints (15 sec each) 17 sprints on treadmill ranging between 10.5-11.2 mph. May not be fast for you, but kicks my ARSE!

Cheers! :D

Today's Torture. haha

Ok just got back from the gym. Between everyone coming up to me and going ''your hair is RED'' (which, seriously, hmm i didnt know that,, i dyed it saturday, but im glad they reminded me while i was lifting and feeling like i was about to puke) ..i got a good workout in.

AND OH MY GOSH!!!.. as you know im following ''New Rules", thinking today was going to be a breeze (high reps, light weight, 2 sets of 25)
Boy was I wrong.. So here's todays workout..Rest periods were supposed to be 30 seconds!!! but i didnt start anything again til at least 45 seconds because I couldnt!!

AGAIN, ALL BELOW IS 25 REPS, 2 SETS OF EACH, 45 sec in between

*Snatch grip deadlift 45lb bar

Then supserset with full rest these two below:
*dynamic lunge 10lb db ea. hand, had to reduce to 8 lbs each hand for 2nd set, then 5 lbs each hand halfway thru that.
*Step Up on bench 5 lb db each hand

Ok so this really got the heart rate up.. even though im not a huge fan of lifting light weights.. But since its in the NROL, it must be good :p Right?!

And so in the middle of doing my lunge and step up supersets and feeling the need to puke, this guy that totally bugs me and gets on my nerves says to me, "I need to do lightweight like you are doing" and he kinda laughed, which I took as sarcasm since I was working my arse off. I wanted to rip his balls off and I almost did, and I'm sure he could tell. But instead I gave him a ''go to somewhere 'really hot' look" as he continued to do his screwed up form with squats AFTER he had done cardio. Whatever. I could take him. I call him Pony Boy. Cuz he looks like a pony.....Muhahahahahaha.:D
REally, I am a nice person.. But he rubs me the wrong way. ANd I'm sick of him. He better not meet me in a dark alley! Muhahahahhaa.. Ok enough of trashing him. I better get ready for work.;)

Hi Red, (;) j/k) unfortunately most, if not all, gyms do have members who think they are a step above the others. As hard as it can be, it is best to completely ignore him. If he continues to "bother" you, tell him nicely (well as nicely as you can :) ) to stay away from you. If that doesn't work, maybe you need to see someone in mamgement if it goes that far. He may look like a pony, but he's probably just a horse's ass. Anyway, I am not trying to tell you what to do, just making a suggestion. Good luck :)

Hi JPC. Actually he has given me probs in the past. He has said a few perverted things to me. I gave him a piece of my mind a few months back and and he let me alone for awhile. Now he just makes sarcastic comments. Its just annoying as he** to have someone stare at you when you bent over doing deadlifts or whatever....I completely understand that happens in a gym and all with guys and gals.. but the WAY he stares and not just to me...He does it to a lot of women.. I have literally had men come up to me in the gym on several occassions, telling me to watch myself if i go out to my car because THEY think he is creepy. Another thing that freaked me out was one time the nasty guy came up to me and says ''Hey what do you know about THAT GIRL?'' and pointed to this young gal.. I said, "i know you are 40 something and she is 16 and if you know whats best for you, you'll high tail it in the other direction''. So he has an eye for young ones too.. Pedophile if you ask me. Gross.

Wow, you may want to say something to management. He sounds like he is inappropriate at best. Sounds like you had a great workout otherwise!

Do you listen to music? My suggestion is to wear headphones or earphones...well, while listening to something obviously...or actually you could just wear them for fun...I guess attached to some device...the point is, wear something and just don't take them off when people come up to talk to you.

Seriously, don't take them off, unless you think you hear a fire alarm, or actually see a fire in the building...in which case nobody would bother you anyway.

Just point at the ears, and give that "I can't hear you" face while nodding your head and pointing at your ears, like what people do when there is really loud music, or at a concert. It works great, just keep walking...or working out, rather.

Yes headphones are the universal "leave me the hell alone sign". I don't even always listen to music but I still keep the headphones in ;)

If it still continues then you should really say something to management. Most gyms are very good and strict about their harassment policies.

As far as your program your workout is solid. Would be curious to see your diet as well. Keep up the great work.

Earphones and a fierce look are definitely a good way to avoid unwanted interaction. Trust me, I'm the master. The key is to respond to people with "WHAT?" repeatedly and look busy..even if you only have one in because you were just talking to someone who you could clearly hear. ;)

Sounds like the meatbag in question might not even be deterred by sound avoidance tactics, though. It's already been said, but I don't know why you'd put up with that. It sounds like he makes everyone uncomfortable, a point you can bring up that should get management to jump on it.

Or, you could start a petition to have him voted out of the gym. :D

Also, I'm lovin' your approach to weight training. Good stuff. :)

o man! im going to try the headphones approach.. You guys are rite. I never approach anyone with headphones.. and you can always use the excuse that you just cant hear them! sounds excellent!

Took about 75 mins..my longest workout.

I think you gonna feel that workout tomorrow :p I've never read NROL, so I have a question about this w/o. It appears to be an upper body w/o, but I see no tricep isolations, yet there is iso's for biceps. Do you train bis/tris on seperate days on this program ??

hey jpc,, this particular workout is divided into three non-consecutive days..,, workouts A, B, and C. ONe workout focuses on lower body, and the other 2 workouts focus on diff parts of upper body.. so on another day i have chest press, dips, rows, etc., and then the other upper body is what you see today! :D
