[Total Newbe] Increasing lower arm girth?

hello,

First of all, I've never worked out or anything and I'm happy with my body, only my arms are really thin.

I'm 6.1 tall and weigh about 150lb; you get the idea. I eat like crazy and don't gain weight :) My body just doesn't store any fat, no matter how much junk food I eat. That's also the reason why my lower arms are really thin. It's pretty much bones wrapped in skin ;).

Therefore, since there are no muscles in lower arms, is it even possible to increase my arms girth by working out?

Thanks in advance

What do you mean lower arms(forearms or triceps)?

I think he means forearms and wrists. Bicep curls can help, for wrists all I can suggest is squeezing tennis balls.

Well yes, you can increase the size of your forearms by working out and there is definitely muscles in the forearms.:) By the way, what is your main reason for asking this question?

Check out my earlier post-responses, as I've covered this pretty-well; I'd add lots of hammer-work (small sledge-hammers work well) for wrist-development. So concentrate on gripping exercises & the various wrist-curls & wrist-rollers with hammer-type work & continue to pig-out on good foods & wait for your metabolism to finally slow down (don't overdo things; cut back on other activities & body-parts that are alright for now; & get plenty of rest -- these things combined should help your forearms to grow).

A good end-exercise for a difficult/hard forearm workout day is to extend ones arms out to the sides at shoulder-level & quickly fist & un-fist the hands for very-high reps... when delts tire, move hands to front & continue until delts & hands/forearms can't take it any longer (make certain that you have plenty of recovery-time before next forearm workout... oh, good news: forearms tend to recover quickly).

Why bother only working on your arms, especially just your forearms? Do some deadlifts, great for your legs, back, core, shoulders, arms, grip strength...

Pullups will definitely work your arms out nicely as well...there's a lot of great stuff you could be doing for you arms...

You really should get a full body routine and work that. You'll increase size all over, and will have a nicely balanced body composition...

behind the back wrist curls and my gym has this like squeez machine where u put weight on it then try to squeez 2 bars togather, that makes u rediculosly pumped

I'm no pro but I think you could incorporate a few more exercises into your routine, working out your forearms approx. twice a week is going to take you not time at all!!! I know what its like to be long limbed- I'm 6'4" - you need to workout more than just your wrists to look in proportion, but anything is a start right?!

If you haven't found it already ExRx (Exercise Prescription) on the Net is a good site with lots of different exercises...

also sounds like you need to learn more about nutrition...make sure you keep your protein up etc you can find out all about that if you search this site...
if you really want to strengthen your forearms you can get these sort of hand held things -you squeeze as many times as you can to strengthen your grip, but i forget what they are called.
