Zepp's Journal

Hello everyone, ill go by the name of Zepp :) 28 Yr old male from Wis. I am beginning a new phase in life, i am trying to slim down and add some muscle. Currently weigh 197 (whoa... didnt know it was that high till today). I dont have a target weight, just want to get to where i look good.

Im new to the whole calorie watching plan, and today was my first day of tracking and i think it went well. I at far less calories than i thought i would, and im really not feeling any different than usual. I did the math and figured i should be around 2,600 cals a day for weight loss. But i cant seem to find that much food to eat, lol. Im sorta in the mind set where i think i need to lay off the carbs... but i dont know if thats the right idea. Will need to do more research.

I would write more, but its late and i have a few things to take care of before i hit the sack. I'll just summarize my day i suppose...

-Biked this morning for about 30 minutes (the first half was good, the second half was killer since i was biking into a strong wind)

-Started my weight training session's. 30 minute workout there... still feeling the squats. (On a side note, i just purchased a weider home bench, i feel i have most of the weights to perform the exercises necessary)

-Just got home from the movie "21"... was pretty good, but now i want to gamble! :newangel:

And here is a link to my FitDay food log. I did about 1,200 cal's today... was hard to get exact, i think it might have been a bit more... but i did track everything i ate.

Any comments or suggestions about the day's intake would be great!

And id like to say you guys are really motivational on here, its great... have been a long time reader, but a first time poster today. Oh and Chillen, you the man!!! :)

Yep, Zep has the pep and is ready to do reps, congrats on the journal! :)

When you get settled, what have you decided to do with a routine?

Controlled Calories + Good Fats + appropriate Carbs + PROTEIN + your ROUTINE + rest INBETWEEN = LEAN and MEAN will be SEEN

Congrats on the journal!

Glad to see you made one, youngman!

Best wishes in all that you do in life and within fitness,

Chillen

And, one more post for the youngman:

When you wake up in the morning and throughout the day, you BREATHE:

A brand new commitment to PERSONAL EXCELLENCE:

(by Chillen)

1. Courage

To erase the inconsistency of the past, one has to be consistent with the goals of the present. One has to exercise internal courage to experience growth of courage: Visionary Courage.

2. Dedication

There is valueable information inside. Make room for only one tyrant: YOU. Your inner voice: A powerful stimulant with unlimited potential. It will give you the ultimate thrill, sizzle you hot, create self-reliance, and send a internal message to your five senses that you are totally committed: Stimulated Dedication.

3. Persistence

Enthusiastic resistence. Realizing through your own eyes, that the real prize are supplies that are inside; distinguishes the strong from the weak; the twin sister of dedication. Cutting edge of action and results: Persistent Resistance

4. Determination

All-in-one sowing seed of the human-will.

Determination delegates the rules, to deliver the results, while demanding the your personal best and can be designed to sell: Amazing results. Superpower of the human-will

5. Heart

The human survival-Kit: If you fall down get up an infinate and unconditional amount of times that it takes to endure and ensure your unlimited personal potential.

6. Create your Internal Music

Remove the "mental fences" around the "five senses":

No one can see it. But you can feel it.
No one can hear it. But you can listen to it.
No one can touch it. But you can sense it.
No one can smell it. But you can sniff it.
No one can taste it. But you can savor it.

The 6 Takes:

Take action
Take charge
Take control
Take one moment and Take the challenge
and you Take the lead

(Chillen)

True Power is Mastering yourself.

Stand and Deliver Today! And, kiss the past negatives goodbye.

Best wishes

My routine consists of the following

A
3x8 Squats
3x6 Bench Press
3x10 Bent over rows
3x10 tricep extensions
3x12 back extentions (laying on floor)
3x10 bat wings (thats whati like to call them... not sure what they are technically, saw it in Mens Health, you lay on bench and lift the dumbells off ground about 6 inches or so)

B (tomorrow will see how many reps i can do)
3x ? Deadlift
3x ? Shoulder Press
3x ? Concentration Curls
3x ? Lunges
3x ? Calvs
3x ? Cheat Curls

Basically just experimenting with different exercises for now, seems that the squats and deadlifts are a must.

And for the daily entry...

Today was a rest day for me, i did a few pushups and situps just to do something. I felt i ate well today, up untill dinner. I purchased a stuffed italian meatloaf this weekend and decided to cook it. I ate a couple slices and it just felt like the whole thing was fattening....it couldnt be healthy with all that cheese so i threw the rest out. So my daily caloric intake is all fubar now because i am not totally sure what i consumed in that meatloaf. So that kinda put a damper on my day, but ill get up and kick butt tomorrow. Looking forward to the workout.

This mornings weigh in 194.8

Today was a good day, ate well besides the 4 small slices of bannana/cherry bread my buddy's mom cooked up. Wow that was good. Im really craving some sweets right now, but the will to stay on track is much stronger!

Very active day at work today. Started 2nd phase of my workout today, went pretty easy... will have to see about tweeking it a bit.

Off to watch CSI, Zep out!

Been doing well, keeping up with everything. Increased the weights in my workout yesterday. Played a little basketball. Weighed in at 191.4 this morning, so this is going well for me.

Zepplin is Precision Tuned

What is Precision Tuned? Lets see.

1. Out of nowhere, Zepplin, realizes he is the ground breaker and the formula for success, and is fully loaded with infinite potential, because he:

A. Is geared up and knocks his socks off when he trains: Hair-raising Gung Ho syndrome.

B. Has developed "spine tingling inside secrets" to produce "searing hot action packed results", that amazes the professionals.

The shocking truth: Throw away the RULES, Zepplin is taking all to SCHOOL's because he has all the physical TOOLS.

C. He knows what's in his soup:

Super-duper Pooper Scooper: (Scoop the Poop, baby!) :)

Whoop! You are the TROOP to remove all POOP from your personal noodle SOUP!

Therefore, reGROUP and SCOOP all the environmental POOP and jump through motivational HOOLA-HOOPS and throw your fitness into brand new LOOPS!

HEHE, ha, ha, he, :) :jump1:

OH!

I hope you smiled today, young man.

ROCK ON!
