Hello Everyone!

I'm Zaffy (real name Denise/Den)...you can call me Zaffy or Den ..whichever ..lol
I'm from Suffolk in the UK
I'm 41 yrs old:eek:
Starting this Diary in the hope it will help me to reach my goal weight and give me a new lease of life as such...

OK, i am 5ft 5.5 and am currently 187 pounds:eek:
I was approx 70 lbs lighter than my heaviest almost a yr ago but have managed to put some back on the past 6 months..

All being that i was doing well on my weight loss til last april , when my soon to be ex-husband decided to leave me for another woman...
Which of course turned my life upside down...
Am still in a bit of an upheavel in other matters going on in my life but need to get a grip of my weight b4 i end up being back where i started at 237 lbs..

I'm going to try my best because as well as a new me, i need to build myself a new life in other ways also, which i am slowly getting there having made a lot of new friends since passing my motorbike test, which was something i had always wanted to do as a teen , but always got put off it over the yrs, and seeing as i am able to do as i please now as such thats what i did !

I also want to fit into some smaller clothes too that arent cover-up and boring..

I have always had my weight go up and down over the yrs, as a teen i was slim, and it wasnt til i started having children that my weight really seemed to balloon:eek:
I have 3 children aged 13,11, and 7, and really now there is no excuse to try and get back to being the slim person i once was

Anyhow, i did follow the Slimming World diet/plan which was what helped me lose 70 lbs, but am finding it hard to get re-motivated back into the plan, so am going to sort of follow it loosely and do my own thing as well....

Starting Today!:)

I do also have a Gym membership, which hasnt been getting a lot of use lately:rolleyes:
So i need to get back into the excercise 'mode' too
Another ambition of min for a long time is to try and get into the fitness industry?..perhaps train to be a personal trainer or take excercise classes..but being that i'm now 41, am wondering wether i am too old, also i need to give up smoking which doesnt help:eek:

But i'm going to try and ease myself back into it slowly and hope i dont succumb to all the sweet/chocolate foods ..
i need to stop feeling sorry for myself, moping around, and get on and do things

Going to make myself a piczo website i think with b4 and after pics and just general things that happen in my life, as a sort of record too...

I will post back in here daily (i hope)
With my food/excercise logs and daily ramblings

Anyhow better get on with it!:rofl:

Hope i havent 'bored' you all too much !!
I do ramble on a bit sometimes..:rolleyes:

But look forward to getting to know some of you and giving and receiving support on our journeys

Sorry things have not worked out in your marriage. Heartache certainly has a way of packing on the pounds for us - good for you for deciding your health is a priority and you are NOT going to gain any more weight!!!

Use your gym membership daily, if you can. And you will likely need to have more than just a loose plan for your eating, but you will get it all sorted out. I am happy for you, and the success you have already had!

Keep your chin up and enjoy this forum. We have loads of folks from the UK on here!

Oh well, didnt get to adding to my new diary last night as i fell at the first hurdle so to speak :eek:
I started off the day well, with some cereal for breakfast and had fruit throughout the day and had thai green couscous for lunch with salad, but i aslo had a bit of a busy day as i am in the process of trying to sell my house at the mo, and had quite a few people throughout the day round to view it..
Didnt get round to starting back at the gym b/c of events...bu did get to go for a few walks with the dog and my kids, while estate agent took the poeple round to view my house, and in between trying to keep the place looking tidy lol
Anyhow come the evening i was feeling a bit fed up and just started to pick at food that was around, choc chip coolies, cheese, bread:eek:
Anyway ended up feeling annoyed with myself for doing so:(

Today has been spent pottering around and getting a bit of shopping and also tidying up after kids again as my boys had 2 mates round for a sleepover, and seemed to get everything out and not put it away!

Also made a roast dinner for tea, and had apple crumble and custard for afters..oops

SO, i have decided seeing as the weekend was such a let down on what i wanted to acheive but couldnt seem to...i am going to start again tomorrow , new week and all that and see if i can get remotivated then!

Gotta keep trying... i WILL get there!
Thinking of rejoining my old slimming club on tuesday, the one i went to when i initially lost my 70 odd lbs....
And need to think about when im going to get to the gym,daily may not be an option b/c of work and kids but maybe 3-4 or more times a week ..will see

Will be back to update tomorrow hopefully with a better result:D

You dont need to push yourself in the gym. Some of the girls are only walking their dogs for long walks and lemme say that can be exercise in itself ( I did it once this year and I had never before ...that dog had me running everywhere) lmao

but I only walk outside ..from twenty minutes to forty five minutes and I have lost 42 pounds from doing this ..well 42.6 ..but seriously I dont have the money for the gym and thought that my walks would never do anything and look what it has done already ..I dont use a treadmill ..but we have a bench in the house, but I havent used that yet, but going to use it tonight .. u know

start that up ..
but anyway and I have free weights ..you can buy free weights for cheep from a store ..dpt store even ..

and as far as food .. I graze a lot ... but I shouldnt ..it takes time taking that habit out .. u know ... but it will take time and you can do it .. I am doing pretty good ...

just keep trecking and start every new day off well and sometimes you wont feel motivated ..thats when you read others diaries and feel their inspiration and excitement ..youd be surprised what this place can do ...the only reason I lost the last twenty pounds is because of this place
