As someone on this forum said in a different thread, Half the battle is getting dressed, putting on shoes and walking through the door of the gym. Tell yourself that you HAVE to start on a routine or a machine, but tell yourself once you do it for 20 minutes, you don't HAVE to finish, you can get up and leave if you feel shitty enough, but usually once you've been doing it for 20 or 30 minutes, you have the momentum going and you feel like you NEED to finish the workout, because you've gotten this far and you don't want to waste your efforts.

Now, at the risk of sounding hypocritical, have you really counted the calories in that chinese food you have for lunch? That kind of thing is hard to portion-control, and it's hard to measure without measuring cups or a digital scale. That doesn't usually stop me, but I like to overestimate the amount I'm eating by 1/2 cup or so.

What age are you? (so I can plug it into the calculator myself.) the safest thing to do would probably try to lose like, 1 or 1 &1/2 pounds a week, but on the other hand, I'm not a nutrition expert, and I don't know how safe it is to stay below 1200.

After swimmng I smell chlorine of whatever it is this swimming pool stuff in my nose...Reminds me of the balloon smell for some reason....:)

I love the smell of chlorine... It smells like the summer to me.

I'm 26.

I dont diet below 1200 as i have lots of stuff going on. My contract is over with my company Sept,19 so I need to look for another job, and move... Also, I'm scared to quit again. SO I'm just trying to change my lifestyle by eating less, healthier and teaching myself to go to gym....

I learned one thing today. If I take all the gym stuff with me in the morning and leave it in the car and go RIGHT after work - it is much easier that going home after work and taking stuff.....because usually i get home and change my mind! lol...

So now - everything with me!:hurray:
 
yeah....i went to aqua aerobics today again!!! For some reason i was cold the entire time. so went to steam room after that for 2-3 minutes....may be 5...
so, now feel good!
 
I just read couple of diaries and i feel like i need to work harder. What is wrong with me? I want to see the results now! I know that if losing weight would be easy and so fast - everybody would be skunny!!!!!
I just need to keep working on myself and stop thinking toomuch that i suffer! Its more of thinking that really changin lifestyle...Its not like a tourcher myself or anything...then why i think i suffer??
So what if i didnt get additional Chesesburger or had water instead of coke, or a salad instead of a burger??? Its not worse, its just a different better choise that i have to get used to.
Everybody is saying that i'll start loving the gym if i go there every day. I really hope it will come to me. One girl even said that it will be like addiction and i will love to go there once i get used to it. I really hope this day will come! What a nice addiction! lol
I'm so tired to have excuses!!!! "Oh, i dont have a job, how can i think about losing weigh?" "Oh, my boyfriend is here just for a weekend, so let me eat out just these day and them start again" "i'll just miss this work out one time but from tomorrow..."...I need to stop that and remember how happy i was when i was skinny! and how not important food was because i felt so beautiful! I want that back!

I'm not working out today - i just got back from work - had to stay there forever. But I'm not eating either. just had a peach.
dont really want to eat...

Today i just want to relax and watch some "Friends". I know every single work they say in every series but still laugh every time i watch:)
 
Old habits die hard. You really have to be vigilant to make sure you don't backslide.

I actually caught myself pigging out on popcorn the other night-- I don't know what I was doing, it just tasted so good! You just have to remember not to beat yourself up over it, and DON'T pig out the rest of the day. I remember way back when when I would have, say, a soda. I would get so frustrated that I would just say, "Screw it. I messed up today already, might as well make a feast of it!" And so until I go really serious about losing weight, I would pig out every day, and I gained about 10, 15 pounds over the course of a couple of years.

I know you can do this. Make yourself believe it too.

Guess how much i gained? After i moved to the USA i gained 46 pounds in only 3 years!!!!
I still didnt realize it. When i look in the mirror i just dont believe i'm fat! In my heart I'm still not!
Seems like i have some psycho problems, lol....
 
I suggest if you want to lose weight consistently, you shouldn't not eat on a day that you don't work out. That kind of thing puts you in to "starvation mode". If you read through the stickies in I think it's the Nutrition forum, you wil definitely see that you should eat. Every day.

Hey,
finally i can sign in here and be proud of what i did the last three days! I've been going playing tennis with my b/f every day and swimming in the pool! I've learned new swimmming styles and it's been great! I also am going to aqua aerobics and tomorrow we will go together with him! Yeah! I didnt check my weight yet, but i will soon!
Everything would be great, but this is my last week in saint Louis - my job is done....Done with me i mean. It was a contract and its over. So now i need to hund for a new project....Ufff....and move...

Welcome! I am new to all this too.....maybe we can help to encourage eachother? Also, my boyfriend is half Russian and if you start talking nonsense, I can always ask him to decode it for me!!!

Something that really helped me (and studies show that this helps a lot of people) is to keep a food journal. Write down what you are eating and how many calories are in the items (dont forget to include things like butter, mayo, beverages, etc). I go to the gym about 4 or 5 days a week ..if you cant make it to a gym, I suggest starting out with a brisk morning walk and some crunches and push ups every day. When you get into the routine of doing that, just add more excercises.

I buy magazines sometimes like "Shape" and "Oxygen". They help motivate and educate me. They also have some excercises to try....

Glad to see you here! Instead of writing your calories check . Everybody recommends it here, i checked - it's really awesome! it has all the foods with calories and online journal for food entries and stuff...Its easy and cool!

I started going for tennis every day - it is fun but all my muscules hurt so much today - its been three days i'm going....oh-h-h-h....even the muscules i've never know can hurt and hurting...
But i'm going tonight again as it is so much fun. I feel sexy with the rocket in my hand! lol

I'm at work, so talk here alter before i got in trouble!
