I was just looking at youtube videos and recognised a few people from here...

Look, esp at the end of this video...

If you don't wnat your photo on this person's youtube videos, I'm not sure if you can ask to have them taken off? Anyway, it certainly makes me reconsider posting pictures!! I'll assume everyone who is posted in her videos was asked first and agreed or else offered her their pictures themselves?

The user dancem89 seems to visit weight loss forums and uses the before an d afters to motivate others... She seems to have taken a good number from this site recently, so be sure to check out all the February 2010 videos.

It doesn't seem like the user is using the pictures for any more than motivation for others which is fine by me. Usually people will take them and use them for some new snazzy weight loss product they're affiliated with to try and make money. That's why many people try to watermark their images.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. It's the Internet, everything is public. If you don't want the possibility of your picture posted all over the place, don't upload it in the first place. That's just the way it is.

Edit: Well nevermind, I missed the part where the user is promoting a website. But once again, there's not much you can do.

Precisely why I watermarked my pictures. However, if they're being used for motivation, I'm okay. But if they start using my pics to promote berries and shakes, then all hell will break loose.

I just commented on her video about it. the least you can do is ask the people you take their permission.

If your image has been used, file a complaint with YouTube. Flag the video. And comment.

Just becuase something is posted on the internet does NOT make it public. And people have the right to control where their images are used. Saying "well you can't do anything about it" is allowing people to continue stealing your photos.

Good advice

it blows my mind the sheer volume of photos this person uses and the incredible frequency in which she posts new videos. The ones from this site I recognized were mostly all on the same video. It's not an easy task to get so many pics. Makes me reconsider posting mine!!

Oh. Wait. I have only lost a stone so no one would be interested in my pics!! ;)

if you put photos online then suffer the consequence, get over it!
No, sorry. I refuse to "get over it". People who steal photos are stealing. If someone stole my purse, you wouldn't tell me to "get over it".

Putting things online on a photo sharing site does NOT give people permission to take those photos. It's as much stealing as if you walked up to my desk and took the picture from off my desk.

yeah... i will have to check this ot and be sure i am not in the video. I am NOT ok with someone using my pics for any reason unless i was asked permission first.

They are used in an inspirational way....if you put photos online then suffer the consequence, get over it!

Of course you say that. YOU did it. First, noticed your photos from before and you put it in your profile here directing to the site.

Here I was happy for your success..but now? I have a whole different opinion of you.

Just flag it off youtube because if they are your pictures you are the copywrite holder. Or if they put it on their website you can file a dmca with their hosting company. It's not ok to take peoples stuff without permission and use it for promotion.

Isn't it interesting that the site she admins has this in their TOS:

the downloading, copying and use of the Content will not infringe the proprietary rights, including but not limited to the copyright, patent, trademark or trade secret rights, of any third party;

It also has this:
As [redacted] asks others to respect its intellectual property rights, it respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that material located on or linked to by [redacted] violates your copyright, you are encouraged to notify [redacted] . [redacted] will respond to all such notices, including as required or appropriate by removing the infringing material or disabling all links to the infringing material. In the case of a visitor who may infringe or repeatedly infringes the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of [redacted] or others, [redacted] may, in its discretion, terminate or deny access to and use of the Website. In the case of such termination, [redacted] will have no obligation to provide a refund of any amounts previously paid to [redacted].

Apparently the site admin doesn't believe that the rules and ethics of her site apply to her.

You are over-reacting my dear, my whole site is for support and motivation. ALL my videos as you can look for yourself is to inspire people to be healthy. If anyone has a picture in there that they don't want in there then contact me. I am not whatsoever advertising dieting gimmicks that most spam bots attack at this website. I am sorry that is why you're concerned. 90% of pictures I have in my videos are sent in where people WANT to be in them. I don't appreciate you telling people i'm STEALING. Thanks though you've gotten me more subscribers :)

and the other 10% can kiss your ass eh?

I don't believe anymore that your only goal is to encourage others. I now believe that it's all about site traffic for you. If you would have asked people first, I bet they would have jumped at the chance to help. You decided it was better to take and ask forgiveness..no. You decided that if someone is mad about it, they are in the wrong, not you.

Now why aren't those people being brought up? Especially for Acai Berry i have seen 50+ pictures from here claiming people like YOU used it. Very sad that you attack me for wanting to inspire people.

You know what it's more insulting to people? You came as a member. You posted results and actually made people want to do the same work. With the other hand, you took their identity for your own use without permission. It's a violation, if of nothing else but trust.

You know there are sites that pay by the member cause people sell email addresses to other companies. How are we suppose to trust you now?
