your opinion

When i squat i usually like to do aroud 10 rep sets. im not much on going heavy on squats as i would on other exercises like presses, though deadlifts i like around a 5 rep set. just want to be good to my back. now would you say lower reps are better for strength gain on squats or higher around 10 or so?

generally, lower reps build more strength.

by 'other exercises like presses' do you mean leg presses? cuz honestly those suck balls compared to squats.

I know what you mean about squats AND deadlifts in the same session though. definitely do deads before squats as the lower back needs to be fresher for deads. there is plenty of quad involvement in deads...you might just stick to your current routine, drop the leg presses IMO, and go heavy enough on the squats that 10 reps is rough.
See what that does for you.

no by presses i actually meant like upper body presses doing low reps for strength gain. i was wondering if doing 10 rep sets of squats would. since it is a very demanding exerciese still at 10 reps. ya i work it where sqauats where 10 reps is enough. 1st set i usually get a pretty good burn, 2nd set i get a big burn and then 3rd set of 10 when im done i cant do anymore.
i usually would do deads on differnet days just because i feel better and more safer on my back too.
