Yarm's No More Excuses!

Thursday 2/18 am

So, yesterday was Ash Wednesday.
As a practical Catholic, it is a day of fasting, but I did allow myself
2 Special K protein shakes as I was going to the gym and had to
have something in my system. For dinner I had a meatball sub,
baked french fries and corn/peas.

My trainer ended up quitting, so I worked out with a new one. Actually,
I met with him on Tuesday so he could get a feel for my goals, my diet
and exercise routine, my strengths etc. He gave me a mini workout on
Tues, and I got the full one yest. I am so sore today lol. He took me
to an area of the gym I had never been: the boxing room. We worked
with some straps called TRX that use body weight, and also did some
boxing workouts. Add in the spurts of cardio he had me do, it's easy
to see why I'm sore and tired lol.

If I can just get my diet on track, there is no way I can not lose this
weight!

3/3/10

It's been a while since I last posted. Still on the same path- yet teh weight is not comin off as fast as I hoped. I am working out regualrly- even harder than in the past. I could do more with my water intake and my diet is not yet an exact science. I talked to the PT today and he is stressing more protein, so I stopped at the store and got some protein bars and shakes.

I just keep moving forward- reminding myself of summer and how cute I will look in my soon to be bought smaller clothes.

Still trecking forward

Working out with new PT Ray and LOVE IT! He is quite the motivator AND makes me sweat my butt off- literally I hope!

I'm tracking every morsel in a journal and checkin it online as well. Staying @ 1500 cal or less and focusing on getting more protein's in. Still working out 4-5 times a week but have upped my intensity quite a bit.

Today's weigh in 173.6lbs Havnt' seen that number in quite a while!

Life is good. Been window shopping for houses, and will begin packing
stuff in a few weeks. I beleive in the power of positive thinking and know that the house will sell quickly, we will get what we want, and will find our perfect home with no issues!

Congrats Yarmiah on seeing the change on the scale as well!! I am pretty sure you are a lot healthier and doing positive things but it is sure nice to see it reflected on the scale once in a while.

I have once again fallen off the wagon. I do catch myself but I am yo-yoing back and forth between 145-150. Right now I am 147.2.. and trying to go down once again....

Keep up the good work!! Kudos on the exercise.

Making progress!
LOVE my P.T.!!! Keeps me motivated, and just clicks with
my personality. Keeping calories under 1400, but upped
the protein per the PT's recommendation, and the cravings
have all but gone. In addition to the increased protein,
I'm eating more veggies and fruit, and have at least 1
Chobani yogurt a day (14g of protein and no fat . . and
delicious!). I am on my way to the healthy body I have
been hoping to have for years!!!

Joined an in-gym 8 week body fat loss competition. Today
was weigh in and I lost 2 lbs in week 1! Current weight now
is 172.80. With the continued help of my P.T.
(I am now working out with him 2x a week) I WILL WIN
this competition. The winning prize is $100, free food but
what I'm in it for is the free training sessions 8) . . and of
course the satisfaction of winning!!!

Update . . finally

Finally getting real and lasting results! Working out at the gym 5 days a week over my lunch hour, adjusting my diet to include more protein, and the workout sessions with my PT have made all the difference! Down to 163lbs and have lost over 10 inches. I have even signed up for a 5k run at an upcoming fund raiser for cancer research. (My cousin who is only 2 years older than me had a double mastectomy last year and the cancer has come back- she's had another surgery and more radiation and chemo to come, im dedicating my first 5k to her!) My PT is helping me prepare- I have already completed a few 5k's on the treadmill and now need to work in some pavement runs. Running is not my favorite, but I do enjoy working out. Started last year going to gym to exercise cuz I know it's good fo rme, I continued to go because it became a habit and now, I actually LIKE it and look forward to going. I'm hoping to get under 160 by 8/1/10.

At 41 yrs of age, I'm healthier than I have ever been. I'm gonna make an appointment with my doctor and get some tests to check my cholesterol, BP and other indicators of good health.

Generally speaking, life is pretty good. Family is healthy and enjoying the summer. The house has not yet sold and we are anxious to move, but it will happen when it's supposed to happen I guess. Planning a party in Sept to celebrate my parents life- it's gonna be a great time!

Hope it won't be too long before I post again!
