Yarm's No More Excuses!

Just got back from going out with my sister.

I'm all for trying new foods and was looking forward to sushi. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to it's expectations. The flavor was tolerable, but I think it was the consistency of the lump of raw fish that I didn't care for. We got a spicy tuna roll and an eel roll. She eats sushi and I told her I wanted the real stuff, not that california/fake sushi. Well, at least I tried it. We had a back up plan- some "regular" chinese food as well- mine was stir fried green beans.

Breakfast: left over penne/chicken
Snack: banana
Lunch(late): sushi, hot n sour soup, spring roll, stirfry beans
Dinner: garden salad

Did 55 min of exercise and may walk in a bit too.- I DID take the dog for a walk too !

I'm so motivated to be successful. I never want to not feel this excited to lose the weight, get in shape and feel great! I keep thinking about how I will look by Christmas, thinking about smaller sized clothes, thinking about looking in the mirror and liking what I see.

The DVD's I got are Rockin' Body and part of the Beachbody series. They came with a schedule of workouts for 1 month(28days). I am commited to following the schedule and know there is one day where I will be out of town and won't be able to, but plan to do cardio at the hotel gym if avail, or just walk if no gym. I know that if I miss ONE day, that will set me up for a boatload of excuses not to exercise, not eat right, etc . . and that will lead back to feelings of guilt & failure and then come the added pounds. I'm done with that!

Completing the DVD's is my mini challenge.
6 days complete, 22 to go.

Breakfast: lite english muffin spray butter, milk
Lunch: left over chinese string beans & rice
Snack: popcorn (ate too much!)
Dinner: home made chicken stirfry over rice

Exercise: 55 min DVD

Congrats on the weight loss and for sticking to your plans so well. That dinner out with hubby sounded yummy.

I didn't like sushi the first few times I had it, either. But it grew on me, and now I love it! I don't like eel, though. :ack2:

Alarm went off at 6 10 am and went to get up and my heel was killin me! I banged it on the under side of the coffee table yesterday and I now have a knot on my heel. I laid back down and told myself "No way can you do this today, maybe you will feel up to it tonight". I laid there for 3 minutes and then got up! I won't feel THAT much better tonight, and I'll likely have other excuses not to work out. SO I got up and decided to do the workouts even if I really couldnt move my legs - at least I could work my upper body, hips and abs. And that's just what I DID! GO ME!

Completing the DVD's is my mini challenge.

I love how you didn't allow yourself to be "talked outta your exercise"
AWESOME ATTITUDE!!!!
YOU GO GIRL!

In the GROOVE!
I'm so grateful to finally be getting some sleep! Even tho I am getting up early to exercise, I am sleeping better than I have in months. No more tossing and turning. All this exercise is wearing me out.

Got up at 6am and did 2 workouts on the DVD. Most of the sessions total 45- 55 minutes. Still focusing on ME - need to KEEP this motivation for the long haul!

Work has been crazy. Time is running about before school starts to get everything done that needs attention. And hubby got that new teaching job and has his first orientation tomorrow.

Breakfast: milk, grapes, oatmeal(not instant)
Lunch: turkey on whole wheat, peach, SF pudding
snack: rice cakes
Dinner: 1/2 piece of pizza(didnt like it), lite hotdog on slice of wheat, beets

Today looks to be a beautiful, if not hot, day outside. Went to bed late last night because I got invovled watching that John Adams mini series thing. Sure, was tired when the alarm went off at 5:55am but got this tush out of bed and "pushed play". Today's work out was a new one, and MAN do I feel it already! Not only alot of cardio work, but my abs and shoulders got a reall good workout too.

Lunch: 1 large slice veggie pizza, garden salad-no dressing, 6 french fries
Snack: mini rice cakes
Dinner: whole wheat tortilla w/ fajita fixings

Didn't get alot of sleep last night. Not sure why, I just couldn't get comfortable. I was hot with the covers on, but cold if I used just a sheet. So when the alarm went off just before 6, I was super tired but didn't let that be an excuse not to get up and exercise.

All in all, it's been a really good week. Exercising everyday, with Sunday being a day off. Eating within my limits, and drinking my water. I have weigh in on Monday, hoping that the scale reflects my hard work.

Tomorrow will be a challenge, but I'm up for it. We are going to my neice/nephew 's (they are twins) birthday pool party. Getting in some swimming is always a good idea to burn some calories, but know the the food will be tempting. I'm sure there will be burgers, dogs, salads, chips . . you know, the regular BBQ type fare. They will likely think me crazy, but I will pack my own lite hotdog and whole wheat roll and a piece of fruit. I may supplement that with available healthy options.

Hey Yarm how did the party go?
I am sure you did just fine. Hope the weather held out for you guys. We had some storms come crashing thru here. They only lasted for about 20 minutes but man were they wicked.
Catch ya later.

A pretty good day today. Got up and went to church, then stopped by Walmart to get a few things. Came home and wrapped soem gifts before heading to the party. It was a little cool for August (which is good thing), but due to the temperature I was not interested in swimming. I did well with eating too. I don't have any more lite hotdogs to pack, so I didn''t go with plan A, but did make wise choices and count all my intake by following plan B.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. Hope to see a good number on the scale, but will not allow myself to be disappointed if not because I have been working out so hard the past week, there is no doubt I am building muscles- I FEEL it!

(today is a rest day, but part of the schedule)

Breakfast: lite english muffin, milk
Snack:
Lunch: turkey & cheese on whole wheat
snack: skittles
Dinner: hot dog on roll, small bag (1 oz)of doritos (party food)

Would have been a better day had I gotten some veggies/fruits in.
DId get my water in anyway.

Another on program day. Got up before 6 and did my workout. Had some breakfast, then off to work with the kids. (I'm usually off Monday's but had to go in for a co worker. I'm lucky my boss allows me to bring in my kids- they are well behaved, I must say). After lunch, took a walk to the ice cream place where I did order a kid's sized italian ice (fat free). Finished work, and after stopping at the store to grab a salad for dinner, headed home. I'm off tomorrow, tho I have an electrician coming to do a check over of the house- it's almost 30 years old and some stuff just don't work right. In addition to my regular workout, I will likely get teh lawn done, if there is no rain.

Oh yeah, had weigh in today. Down .2lbs but I'm ok with that. I have been working out like crazy, and not just cardio- I know there is muscle building going on. And, I usually weigh-in in the morning and today it wasnt until the evening.
Nothing is gonna ruin my attitude/motivation. No Way!

HI Yarm,

I bet you lost a great amount of weight!!!.
When I weigh myself in the morning and in the evening there is about 2-4 lbs difference (the evening one always higher!!)

keep going, you are kicking butt with all those exercises!!.
hajni

Got up early again today, not to exercise, but because the electrician was here to check out some misc. stuff around my house. Lucklily, no major problems and he was able to fix the few things that needed attention. After they left, THEN I exercised. Another new routine, had fun but wish I was able to jump around the way he does. He (Shaun T- the star of the series) does offer lower impact instruction but I wish my ankle could handle the high end stuff. Oh well, I'll do what I am able- no wanna risk injury and not being to work out at all. And, I am working up a good sweat no matter what I do. Oh, and I got in extra exercise mowing the lawn.

Up and adam at 6am and did my workout. Off to work after a healthy breakfast.

Yesterday, did some more shopping for hubby's new job, and got the girls each a new pair of shoes. I was looking for a few nightshirts but they were either too young/junior, or old ladyish looking. Came home after picking up a pizza and salad for dinner, then off to take Maddie to piano lessons. I was bushed and wanted to go to bed early, but hubby wanted me to wash his new clothes for him as he wanted to wear them the next day. I can't believe school will be starting in 2 weeks!

Nice workout, Yarmi. I wish I had the get up and go to get up early and work out. It just seems like every time I try the bed is too inviting. Good for you, though.
