wrists

My wrists curls are increasing my forearms but not increasing the size of my wrists, which is weird. I feel lik i have disproportionate relative to my wrists (i can still feel the little bump where the bone ends at the wrist). Why is that? Arn't wrists just suppose to come with training your forearms?

doing wrist curls strengthens your wrists actually lol

imo

and i dont have to do wrist curls as my wrists are pretty strong heh :D

your wrists wont get stronger, your forearms will. you dont have muscle at your wrists, its just bone.

oh really?

u have proof? there are people who i know who have had weak wrists, thru doing wrist strengthening workouts their wrists have gotten stronger

where is ur proof? dont blurb out nonsense plz

how did their wrists become stronger? the forearm muscle controls the wrist and fingers, tendons goes from the forearm down to the hand. if you are skinny, try to flex your "wrists" what will happen? your forearm muscle pops out and maybe some tendons down at the actual wrist.

He's right, karky is. Although doing forearm exercises will help make your tendons and ligaments stronger. I think you're misunderstanding, when you do a 'wrist' curl, it's working your forearm.

..Coco, you will get little to no muscular hypertrophy in your wrists, just something else to deal with...

yea that's wut i thot too
I'm also working on my pinch grip, i find it that it helps with strengthening the wrist more so than the wrist curls

I've read that there are many exercises you can do to strengthen your "wrists". Grip is just part of it. Wrist curls (BB and DB), reverse wrist curls (BB and DB), hand grippers (captains of crush), pinching plates, wrist rollers, etc. I think pretty much every exercise you do that involves you holding onto a bar of some sort will increase your forearm strength which in turn affects you "wrists". I keep putting wrists in quotes because, as others have said, you don't actually build up muscle around your wrist.

I don't know for sure but I think the only way you can get bigger wrists is by fattening up and that's probably not your goal.

hence... Ray Charles use to feel a girls wrists to determine if she was fat or thin... when meeting her... (or at least the movie showed that)...

do deadlifts, rows, pullups, everything without straps. its what i did, when i started i had problems holding a 100kg deadlift, which was my max then. now my max is 125kg and i had no grip troubble at all.
