I've been out from lifting for 2 months now due to a fractured scaphoid bone from biking. (It's a bone located just in front of the wrist almost inbetween the thumb and index finger, and has a poor blood supply so takes awhile to heal).
Anyway I just came out of cast today but the doctor told me I should be careful with it for another month because it isn't fully healed yet. (He said no heavy lifting!
)
I was wondering...is it possible for me to do more damage to it by lifting weights before it is fully healed? In my mind I see fractures as being caused by sudden impacts, not strain on muscles. So if anyone here is knowledgable with things like this, then I would like some educated opinions on whether I can start weights again or not. Thanks.
