Wrestling

We had another meet friday against our rivals and we had heard that theyre team was weak this year. That turned out to be an understatement, they were AWFUL. We won EVERY single match against them, it was insane. It was also our first meet this year at our school and we had a bunch of guys cheering for us. It was a good feeling to humiliate and dominate them as thouroughly as we did. Only like two of the matches were competitive, but we came out on top in both.

I had to wrestle thier captain and he looked like he was good but he wasnt tough at all. He kept grunting and yelping and i was able to take him down pretty fast with a double leg and pinned him in the first round.

Our team is still undefeated!

Luis (captain, 171) broke his wrist. I feel so bad for him. Not only does he miss the rest of the season and sectionals, but he lost *3* scholarships. I don't know if he can even compete in powerlifting this year. I hope he makes a VERY quick recovery and it heals very strongly.

wow, thats terrible :( i feel bad for him

had probably the most intense match i have ever had earlier this week. it was against this guy who i lost to last year, but beat once already this year.

first period i lost, and was extremely pissed off that i lost it.

so in the second period i turned it up, went extremely hard, and won.

third period the guy was extremely tired, i was too but there was so much adrenaline that it didnt matter at all. i was bleeding all over the place, because my lip was split, and i had bitten through my tongue. he had a few points, so did i, it was a pretty tight third period, we were both exhausted, he was bleeding from somewhere on his face, i was spitting out blood everytime i went to breathe, but we were both still going really hard. at one point, i managed to get a takedown and brought him down pretty hard to the mat (which was also really hard). we wrestled on the ground for a while, nobody really getting or giving anything until i (somehow) got a half nelson on him. at first he didnt turn and i just gave everything i had and turned him over, and then he bridges. i put more and more weight on his shoulders and just pushed him into the mat and finally got the pin.

also, our team is now 8-0, after beating arguably the toughest team in the league, now we have to beat the team that's won the championship 15 years in a row, but apparently they're not very good this year, and, judging from our 8-0 record, we are.

well its all said and done now. we are the champions, the first time since 1982. The team that has won the championship 17 years in a row has had their tradition broken, and we've taken it home, with a score of 90 points. the next closest was 74. i think its safe to say we left them in our dust.

actually, i think we had 96...:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

but does it matter? we killed it!

i wrestled in my high school, though my coaches ignored me. i pretty much ate whatever i wanted cause i worked out so much(like 5 or 6% body fat), but they gave no technique to me anyways. i only got to wrestle twice and lost both.

the first he was like 5'6" at 152 and im 6'1" at 150, he managed to slam me HARD pretty quick. i tried to get out of the pin, but my back was killing me

the second was way out of shape, and i was stronger, i knew he was going to do a python because his whole team did it, but my coaches said there isnt enough time to teach me how to stop it, lie. he did it loads of times, and i broke freee, then the ref called a pin, when i wasnt pinned.

anywho, im glad theres a sports section, i now play rugby :D

Hey Merciless!

I wrestled in High school for 4 years. I started because I was the only person at 103 pounds (I was 98 pounds), and therefore had a free varsity letter:D The best part was that I had the metabolism of a 10 year old, and couldn't gain weight no matter what. AWESOME season. Then I sprout up about 15 pounds a year to 152. Captain and co-captain were 145 and 152, so I had no choice but to wrestle up at 160. I was never able to bulk up 8 pounds (already a small 152), but I had a GREAT season. My team went 29-1, I went 22-3, and came 4th in the New Championship championship my senior year. The frustrating part was that I lost in the semi-finals to a guy that I tech falled earlier in the season! Talk about a way to end your career..:(

Hey guys I want to wrestle next year and I wondered what are the best weight exercises to do for wrestling specific training and how many reps/sets should I do? Thanks

help

hey i need some help here
i weigh 185 and im 6'1
i am decent at wrestling, yet i havnt wrestled since freshmen year.. due to injuries(im going to be a senior this year).
How ever i still intend to become stronger and increase my muscle mass
i only can bench 185.. and have a lil bit of fat
So should i try to lose weight like crazy and wrestle at 171.. or just eat and lift day and night and wrestle at 189?
bc if i dont get bigger or smaller... im going to get killed at 189..

171 i say. if u can drop down to there or even to about 160 and put on 17lbs of muscle you would be unstopable! i say u just cut down and the lift ur ass off! (it worked for me. ie...i was 215)

hey guys... i know u will find this question funny but in my country we dont have wrestling but i alwasy wondered how much of it is real? well im not really such a big fan but neither i am against it... i vse seen it couple of times on tv but the thing that bothers me is that there isnt heavy injuries with all of that jumping and stuff... xD

yea

its about as real as it gets.
check out a video of what wrestling is like

you can seach on youtube for a lot of matches.
Its a sport that you will become the toughest mentally and physically. I wrestle 160 now, after losing a good solid 25-30 pounds. I would reccommend trying to get a club together.

matej, there's sport wrestling and there's professional wresting. I believe you are referring to the latter. Professional wrestling is all show and is fake. Slovenia has sport wrestling, which is the type of wrestling this thread is talking about and is shown in the video nms posted.
