Would Like Some Help

Hello everyone.
I'm 16, 5'8, and I weigh 135lbs. I'm not overweight, and I don't want to be a stick figure. I'm looking to shed a few pounds (in a healthy way) and get a bit more toned for a cruise my family and I are taking this christmas. Any ideas, tips, workouts, diets, etc. that you can help me with would be very appreciated. I already do Ballet and yoga, but I would like to make my stomach a bit flatter. (I would like to get down to about 120-125)

Thanks guys!

Instead of your focus being weight, work on the inches. At 5'8 135 you can hardly even LOOK fat but I understand the desire to be more "tight" and get rid of some pooch here and there. Start eating smaller meals more frequently in your day (every 3ish hours). Add a protein and a complex carb (oatmeal, whole wheat bread, brown rice etc), or fruit for the first 2-3 of those meals and a protein and veggie combo for the last few meals of the day. That alone will make a difference.

I think it is a matter of wanting individualized attention, which I can understand. On top of this, most people don't understand that there are a few basic and blanket concepts that apply to everyone, and most people do not know or understand these concepts.

Maybe the website can be configured to take every new person who signs up to some introductory reading section which will contain all the stickies. Alternatively, there needs to be a big sign next to the new thread button saying HAVE YOU READ THE STICKIES? in huge flashing red letters.

Apparently I did something wrong? I posted because everyone is different, not everyone can use a "default cookie-cutter" diet/excercise method, we all have different situations and bodies. I was just wondering if anyone had any Specific ideas or suggestions, and I don't believe that my post was wrong. Thank you guys anyway, it was nice of you to bash people for asking for help.
(But a sincere thank you to stroutman81, and Derwyddon for being understanding and polite :))

Hiya.

I'm new to this site too. It took me a while to even realise what "stickies" are let alone their use.
I'm not a forum junkie, I read only two others. (One a financial and another about narrowboats) I'm rather lucky that the boards have a welcoming and tolerant etiquette.
I think there are ways to make a point without making people feel unwelcome. Similarly I think that comments made on forums can be easily received as negative.
I have a point of not taking offence unless someone specifically says "tonyreptiles is a XXXXXXX".
Similarly i make an effort to ensure my posts are as friendly and welcoming as possible.

I hope you get some good responses to your question. I'll happilly help out where I can. In the meantime, good luck.

Kind regards
TR
