Workouts for strengthing the lower back

Ok I've been working very hard on the lower back as well as every other muscle latly and if any of you guys could give me some great exercises for the Lower Back then thatll be awesome. Also on the friday that just passed this women who teaches kickboxing at the golds gym across the street from fenway park here in Boston showed me a great exercise in which it would be better if I showed you it because I'm not the best at describing exercises. thx ;)

deadlifts...when done correctly you'll be feeling it in your lower back a ton, but be careful because it's also easy to injure your back as well, there are quite a few articles and descriptions online, but it would probably be better to find someone you know who knows how to do them well and learn from them, mainly because, if you've never done them, it can be confusing and difficult to get the form down correctly, atleast the first few times you give it a try

You might want to try slow movement stiff leg deadlifts with a roll up.

Tips
Start with far lower weight than normal
do only 3 to 4 reps (target neuromuscular development)
so at most 2 to 3 sets
avoid training lower back more than 2 times in a week (takes a good bit recovery time)
Do it slow... if it causes pain, stop lower the weight and try again, still pain? stop check form lower weight start again, still pain? do something different.

Stretch your calves, hams, and hips... most lower back pain I've seen over the years comes from stiff posterior chain muscles.

Cheers! :D

Stiff Legged deads, good mornings, hyperextenstions, Glute ham raise, most any dead and even full squat/front squat will place alot of tension on the lower back. To name a few.
