Working Out

Well recently I have started doing some reps on my bar bell at home and I do it every day but recently on my biceps I have been getting bruses on my arms (bicep area) is that something I should worry about or is it just normal?

at the moment i dont have a gym just a barbell/curl and i do about 120 pounds (not much i know) 12 times/ 10 times/ 8 times/6 times / 4 times then i do like 60 pounds curl with both arms about 25 times but thats all i do with my arms and I dont think Im hitting anything with my arms

You need to do more than just curls. There's a syngeristic cohesivness to muscles. You can't expand the biceps much without building up the surrounding and supporting muscles. While your at it:

"New Rules of Lifting!"

and I would not call 120lb barbell curls "not much". that's a hell of a lot more than I can do.

are you moving the weight correctly, or flinging it around wildly?

I second malkore's question. 120lbs IS a LOT. Are you sure your form is good and you arent using your back to swing the bar up?

Be sure your elbows remain stationary throughout the entire movement. If you are rocking your elbows back and forth, you are using more shoulder and back muscles than biceps. It's an isolation exercise and should only be working out the bicep.

maybe try working your biceps every other day instead of every day?

heh, or even not at all, and instead focus on heavy rowing and pullups, which also hit the biceps, but work your back, which is a larger muscle group that shouldn't be neglected.
