working out high?

ok im not promoting this because i dont want to sound like an idiot but...

me and my friend did this yesterday not because we wanted to do it, just because we ended up smoking right before we were supposed to workout, so we thought what the hell we'll give it a try. we did chest and my previous max was 185. i did 135x12, 155x10, 175x8, and 185x4...so we thought lets try and max out. i tried 200 and got that once, then i tried 210 and got that once! is this just a coincidence and i got stronger on my own in the past 3 or 4 months (not maxing out) or did it have to do with being high? probably just a coincidence but im just wondering...felt great having my max go from 185 to 210!

That's just from strength training and getting stronger in the last few months. Honestly, you were probably weaker when you were high. Probably not the best idea to work out when you are high.

i dont think you were weaker, but you wernt stronger. i dont notice a strenth change when im blazed. but, nice 1 on the increase in weight.
dont get high too much because the munchies can seriously damage you eating program lol

I've worked out stoned many many times

I personally enjoy working out stoned, but while working out, my balance, heart and breatheing rate, and strength has all decreased

I'm not personally for or against getting high. Personally, I believe that it will be legal one day soon, but if you are going to do it...try and do it to your advantage like Arnold did. He admitted to smoking because it made him eat more...and on a bulking diet, it can be REALLY hard to eat sometimes. Just make sure you are eating the right things.

Getting high and lifting really heavy weights over your head and chest seems like a recipe for disaster to me.

well yea but it's probably not like you guys are picturing, we weren't retarded high, just smoked a few j's. and im not defending it just wanted to get some feedback, probably not going to be making a habit of it.

and i also think it will be legal one day, it's everywhere. the law doesnt stop anyone from doing it, just like underage drinking..

Weed like other drugs can have a stimulating effect on your body, i know oxycodone(oxycontin/'poor mans heroin') often makes working out feel quite pleasurable. Maybe because pain killers numb 'workout pain 'while your body is releasing endorphins. Whatever the reason, you don't feel tired and your accessible strength increases. Your mind limits your body's output since exerting too much force will eventually cause injury(too many consecutive reps/too much weight). Drugs disable these limits to a certain extent, use with caution, and remember to stay hydrated.

ps. also take into account the strain on internal organs such as your heart which will already be beating quite fast from the drugs let alone the toughest workout of your life.

I dont think Arnold smokes anymore (cant because he is governor), but he still probably does workout but not like he used to (bulking and such). He's too busy. I'm from california, and yeah he is a great governor. =) I do miss him in movies though! Terminator movies is the best!

well i guess you guys were right because i just maxed out again today at 215 and 225! took me a good 8 seconds to get the damn bar up but i did it. i drank an energy drink, full throttle, by coincidence right before the gym today, do they help?

This has been discussed a few times..

'Workout Doobies' surely had the greatest thread title ever.
