Working out at home

i have no work out bench... i only have dumbells and the tv + floor

im trying to train my chest, so im using 2 dumbells and similating a benchpress lying on the carpet floor... do i need to buy that WWF belt thing? or is folding a blanket and putting it on my lower spine just as good?

is there anything wrong with me just working out on the floor?

also, wanna mention about the benchpressing thing... my elbows cant go past my body cuz im lying down, (elbows jus hit floor) <---- would that affect my training?

Your not going to get the full range of chest motion when you do a bench press or I guess in your case a floor press :). It would be great if you can pick up a little bench at least, they arent that expensive. Something I do when I cant make it to the gym is I will put my free weights on the floor spread out. I then put my hands on them and spread out the weights to about shoulder length and do push ups, making sure to drop your nose almost to the ground. The extra distance from the weights to the ground gives your body an extra stretch.

As for the WWF belt I dont think you need it for chest exercises, the weight belt is really used for heavy lifting and helping to protect your lower back. You will have a debate if people actually think the belt actually is a good idea. But in the case of a chest workout your lower back shouldnt really come into play unless your are really struggling to get the weight up and in my opinion if your spine is up in the air during a benchpress you are trying to life to much and could harm yourself, though I see some guys do it lol..

Its not about how much you can lift but how you lift it.. All about form.

well me being the poor bastard that i am...i just went down the backyard and got some 3 bits of unsplit firewood and an old wooden painting plank and stuck that on top of the bits of unsplit firewood...so old foam and a bed sheet and walla i have a weight bench now...lol.

Listen to Zod's advice.
