Working out Abs/push ups everyday?

Hi there! For the last 6 months I've been doing 100 push ups everyday, along with roughly about 500 different types of ab workouts (bicycles, regular crunches, etc). A friend of mine told me the other day that its bad to workout everyday, and that it will actually reduce the amount of success I get out of it. So what I want to know, is doing these exercises everyday going to reduce how much I get out of it?

First question I always ask a client is, What do you want? What's your goal? Until you know this, you can't train effectively..

I do calestenics every morning and most evenings. Pushups, pullups, crunches and body weight squats. I see nothing wrong with it. It works for me very well. I am 50 now and I am not trying to win the Mr. Olympia contest. I am nice and lean and maintain a healthy 177 lbs. for my frame. Don't go to total failure when you are working out. Leave around one or two reps for the next set. ( I learned that from Bill Pearl). I do them mornings and evenings. Sometimes I do them during the day. I have a buddy that does 400 pushups a day. He breaks them up in sets of 40. We work together and I don't care where he is, he will drop and do 40 ten times a day.

I do what thunder said about their friend, but 305 pushups and 2000 crunchs a day lol no pain no gain. It's good for you, it's not like your lifting weights but get a good nights sleep and eat tuna so your chest and abs can rejuvinate.
