Hello everyone!
I found this forum around January. After reading through about 10 different weight loss diary's I felt very encouraged to lose some weight. After trying and failing more times than I can remember, I finally felt encouraged enough knowing that other people are going through the same struggles I did with losing weight. I also saw that people were losing weight and seeing the progress as the weight came off which I wasn't used to seeing or hearing about.
You always hear about people deciding to lose weight, but it was nice to see people who decided to do it and actually succeeded.
That was January 2nd or so. Since then I've gone from my heaviest weight of 268lbs. to 235lbs. I basically did a little bit of exercise and changed my eating habits for three months. After that I decided I wanted to take a break so I took four months off. I ended up gaining about 5lbs. in those 4 months without exercise. Mainly just changing my eating habits. Basically just eating right on the weekdays and Friday/Saturday I eat and drink whatever I want.
One of the things that I noticed made a HUGE difference was actually eating breakfast lunch and dinner. I used to skip at least one meal a day and be starving then I'd eat after work at 2:30 and again later at night when I'd get hungry again. Now I eat somewhere between 2:30pm and 4:00pm on the weekdays, at the latest. I noticed I started losing weight when I started keeping my meal times more consistent.
Anyways, it's been REALLY hard to get back into the groove of exercising again but I figured I wanted to start my own diary now. Maybe that'll help me get back into the whole weight losing mindset. My long term goal is to get my weight down to 175lbs (I'm 5'9"). However my short term goal is to drop my weight from 238lbs-208lbs by the end of November.
