just to mention the NYT classic crossword, yesterday's (the 5 week old syndicated version) was one of those that makes you wonder how the puzzle maker's minds work. the basis of the puzzle was around the four clues that produced the phrases...

DOOR LATCHES
can you see what they have in common?
they are all anagrams of each other using the same 11 letters.
