Wittbound's Diary

Cedar Point sounds fun. I bet it's a lot better than Lagoon thats here. Lagoon isn't really bad, I just think it's kind of overpriced for what ya get. Perhaps I'm wrong.... I wasn't always a fan of roller coasters, just in the last few years I've started to really love them. I'm sure there are many I still need to go on in my lifetime tho. I'm sure Paulab on here knows all about Lagoon too, she has younger kids and lives closer to it than I do, so I bet she goes more than me...

Good thinking about eating beforehand. I've been conciously thinking about doing that lately when I have somewhere to be when I know the food isn't going to be that healthy. I keep seeing that infomercial thing on those "Full Bars"... I wonder how those are. I would try one once just to see what they are like, jmo...

Have a great day,
Sam

It is sooo fun. It's got something like 13 roller coasters or something.

Just got done eating lunch. I had a breakfast burrito (2 eggs, wheat tortilla, 1 tablespoon of salsa, and eyeballed cheese), 3 strawberries, and about 8 pretzels. All that adds up to about 400 calories. Breakfast was 150 calories.

I'm still not quite sure what's on the menu for my lunch... I brought a chicken breast to work, and I'm sure I will eat it at some point in the day... My dad and I usually eat lunch together but today his boss is in town and taking him out to a nice restaurant... Decisions decisions. I had a bagel for breakfast. It wasn't a really healthy one tho, it was from my favorite bagel store. They make these asiago cheese bagels that are out of this world. I don't think the cals were too bad, and the cream cheese i had on it was loaded with veggies and it was whipped. Hoping it was a little healthier than I think it was.... I usually have hummus on my bagel but I haven't been feeling it lately....

If you guys have ever been, or ever do go, to Toronto, you have to check out Canada's Wonderland. It's a pretty awesome amusement park. It's pretty much the only one up here. If we want another one we gotta go to six flags darrien lake in NY.

I will have to remember that...Wonderland. I'll take a mental note. Unfortunately, I can no longer just drive up to Canada. I have to get a passport. STUPID.

But I thought I would just post some pictures up to show where I am and that sort. So...

This is me last year in...April/Mayish? Not 100% sure of the date, but I know it was at the end of the school year.

and then I took basically the same picture sometime last week....

It is very obvious that I am no longer a lifeguard. :( I miss being tan...and fit.

I think I may have just recently posted the first pic, but I just wanted to get both of them up, so that you can see the differences. Most of the weight I need to lose is coming from my stomach, love handles/back, inner thighs, and butt. Why does the fat have to spread itself all over?!

Thinking about posting in the before and after thread...but will people just say that I'm already skinny and shouldn't lose any more?

It's all relative... There will probably be some that say you shouldn't lose any but, that's there opinion. You obviously don't have very much to lose, and you want to lose it in certain areas. Life is cruel though and we are unable to spot reduce... which sucks. I think sticking to the workouts and keeping and eye on what you eat will do the trick. I do try to limit my carbs later in the day... I know you don't really pay attention to carbs you said, and I don't really either but I think subconciously I avoid carbs sometimes without even thinking about it. I'm more drawn to salad and protein now, especially when I go to a restaurant. I don't really buy bread at home but, I do eat my whole grain bagels. I do eat cereal once and a while... You can do it, just keep doing what your doing ;)

Wow what a weird coincidence...I just posted in my journal today about making an amusement park my weight loss reward since I can't fit on most rides and I was totally thinking Cedar Point because I live in Ohio. Course I didn't think anyone else lived close enough to even know about it so I didn't say anything. Then I come over to check out witt's journal and you guys are all talking about it :D Maybe down the road we could make a Ceder Point challenge :) I've never been on a roller coaster!

I hope that it does the trick. :/

Jello,

Cedar Point is amazing. It would serve as a great treat. :)

So....I'm stupid. I took more of that stupid stuff, and I took about the same amount as the first time (1.3 ish scoops), and it made me sick tonight. I actually threw up 2 times. The first time I got rid of most of what was left of the supplement, and the second after I ate an ice cream bar. I feel a little better now. It must be wearing off. Thank god.

I'm never taking that again. It hasn't even worked the past 2 times.

On a better note I was around 136 when I finished running today. :) My goal is to be at 135 by Monday. I'll take another picture then, as I'll be 5 pounds down. Yay. Probably won't be able to tell a difference though until 10 pounds.

I saw the quote in my signature a while back, and I always think it when I'm running. I'm quite mean to myself when I run actually. They always say to be positive, but when I find myself thinking about the pain, tiredness, soreness, or about quitting I say things like "Suck it up," or "Don't be a pussy." Excuse my language...

I really need to go and time my 2 mile time tomorrow. I hope I'm not disappointed. :/ I have until mid-August to get it down to 16:00. I'll report my first time to my coach tomorrow.

Dinner was breaded chicken (grrr mom) with green bean casserole, and a lemon poppy seed muffin. I had 1.5 smaller chicken patties, a large serving of green bean casserole, and the muffin is one of those small Betty Crocker kinds. I'm sure this was a bit high in calories, but I didn't really eat too much today other than that, so I'm fine.

Thanks for stopping by my journal!

You're doing really well with workouts from what I can read. Good luck with the 2 mile time, i'm sure you'll get it soon!

That sucks about that supplement you were taking. At least you know that your body probably doesn't like it anymore...

Congrats on hitting 136. Your moving right along. Good luck on your 2 miler times.

Yeah, I think I can live without it...it wasn't the best tasting thing any way.

Had my yogurt for breakfast, and I'm going to go running when my ipod has had a chance to charge. My headphones are all messed up right now...only one side works, so I am going to have to wear my ear buds. These are not ideal for runners that sweat, however, and they ALWAYS fall out, so I'm going to bandage them down. haha

I ran 3.12 miles today, according to my pedometer. Didn't time it. I don't have to report until next week. Thank goodness.

I'm so flippin hot though. I can't cool off.

And in a bit I need to go and eat lunch. Not sure what's on the menu, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Thanks, Pheobe. It's taken a lot of patience to be able to run such long distances again. :)

umm...today wasn't awesome. At work I snacked a lot on croutons, chipotle chips, and leftover pastas. Boo.

So even though today was supposed to be a day off...I went running. 3.75 miles to be exact. And I actually discovered something...running at night when there is less sun, less heat, enables me to run faster!

Oh nice counter balance there :) Instead of beating yourself up you just want running to even things out. I'm not able to do alot of intense exercise yet but I'm still learning alot reading diaries here and getting alot of good tips.

At least you've come into it fully aware that you have limits. Some people think they can go full force from the beginning and end up burning out or injuring themselves. I have found that this site is great when I am in need of some inspiration. I usually look at some of the before and after threads, and I feel motivated again!

Today was another not-so-good day. Looks like 135 isn't happening tomorrow. :/ My scale is such a piece of crap that it's hard to read, but I think I'm in between 137 and 138. Tomorrow I really need to dig in, so I'm going to make a plan.

-Wake up at 8:30
-Go to HS captains' practice (I think Mondays are long distance?)
-Get home around 11:00
-Eat breakfast (Yogurt with Choc. Chips)
-At noon do my abs/arms workout (focus more on abs)
-12:30ish run my 3.75 mile course
-1:30ish Eat lunch
-4:30 Snack
-7:00 Dinner (either bring 1 to work, or kids grilled chicken)
-Any time after dinner = no dinner

I hope that I can follow through with this plan because I really need to.

As a side note...I got the Oxygen Glutes magazine, and I am going to be doing my lower body workout at the Y from now on. I want to add in 3 exercises. 1) Leg Press with a wide stance. 2) Standing cable kickbacks. 3) Hip Raises with a 15 pound plate.

These workouts are on top of lunges, calf raises, and squats. I am going to be soooore after that first workout.

Well, I think is about all there is to say. :) Night.

Just boiled 2 eggs for tomorrow. I was going to do a whole bunch, but we only had 4 eggs. I want to start eating more protein!

Today got all thrown off because of stupid rain.

I was driving in to practice, and it started pouring, so I just turned around and went home, as to not waste the gas. Got home around 9 and went back to bed. I didn't wake up again until about 11:15. Dang. So I am going to go run when my mom leaves to go to the store. It looks iffy out, but at least it will be cool again.

Breakfast - yogurt with chocolate chips 150 calories
Snack - none
Lunch - turkey sandwich, yogurt, banana 620 calories
Snack - caramel rice snacks 90 calories
Dinner - Pasta (penne, arrabiatta, grilled chicken, mushrooms, and spinach) 500ish

Total = 1,360 calories

My mom is getting the ingredients for the parmesan bake that I saw last week. I really want to make it! I love the idea of having croutons as the crust and not breading.

Alright well I will be back in a bit to report on lunch/my run.

I just went on my run, and it was awesome! I ran harder than usual. I think it has to do with the weather. I run faster and longer when it's cooler. Today it was even drizzling when I was running, and it felt so good. At the very end when I had about half a mile left I got a terrible cramp, and I was thinking about walking the rest. My song changed just then, and Eminem's "Till I Collapse" came on. The first words of the song are

'Cause sometimes you feel tired,
feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength..."

and you better believe I ran that last half mile. I even sprinted the last 75ish meters.

I never thought I would find inspiration in an Eminem song, but that song couldn't have played at a better time!

...and I weighed myself after running...135!!!! After this crappy weekend, I still got down to 135. I know that it's right after I got done working out, but I am still so happy. :)

My mom should be home soon with my lunch....
