Will this work?

Long story short, I'm the typical "spring break in just over six weeks" case and I'm looking to build some muscle before I go. I'm a pretty small guy and have always been very light. I'm 5'8" and I only weigh ~122 pounds. I was reading through the sticky about training and all and to be honest, it just seems a little over my head. I'm a skinny guy so I generally am already pretty toned by default, I'm just looking to bulk up a little, not much though. So my question is simple. Do you believe I can get the results I'm looking for by doing situps/pushups each night in my room? I generally just do as many pushups as i can till i about collapse and do three sets of that. I know its not exactly a real workout plan but do you think it will work/if not what would you recommend?
 
If you want to increase muscle size you need to lift heavy. Push ups will help you build muscle endurance, but won't help you get significant size.

Hit the weights. The recommended weight is as much as you can lift for 6 repetitions. If you can do more than 6 reps, you are using too little weight, if you can do more, you are using too little.
