Which to take post workout ?

I currently train at 5 PM, mostly finish around 6, and we eat dinner at 7.
Now mostly, i ate a banana before workout, and drank a 'mass gainer' afterwards (among some more food prolly, varying from day to day).

now i ran out of the mass gainer, and decided to buy both the usual, and 'protein 95'. here's the stats of both (/100 gr):

- mass gainer (should use 250 gr with 500 ml milk, but i prolly only use 100 gr / time):
energy: 369 Kcal
proteins: 16.3 gr
carbs: 73,6 gr
fat: 1.06 gr

- protein 95 (should use only 30 gr, so take 1/3rd):
energy: 363 Kcal
proteins: 82.6 g
carbs: 4.1 gr
fat: 1.8 gr

Mostly ppl take a protein shake after their workout, right ? but i heard you also need carbs too, and the protein 95 doesn't contain any at all... so which is better ?
mass gainer alone ? or protein shake + banana or so ?
or use a scoop of both together ?

or would it be better to drink one of them before training, train at 6, and then finish at 7 right before eating dinner ? and when to drink the other one ?

or doesn't it all matter that much ^^

(btw: i'm ectomorph, about 1.8M, 65 kg, eating all day through to gain weight 'n stuff :p)

you have many options.

you could do the mass gainer. but 16 grams of protein to 73 grams of carbs doesnt sound too good.

you could do the protein shake with a banana and you could even mix the protein shake with some gatorade powder.

personally i do 25 grams of whey protein with 35 grams of gatorade powder myself. :)

After my workout I do a protein shake and a sandwich, I like to have some proper food and some carbs.
Ive just got a mass gainer supplement- might use that on my off days.

tnx for the replies.

another question: if i can't get to 100-150 g protein a day (i heard 1.5-2 g / kg body weight; i weigh 65kg) (because of for instance a mother who won't buy me a can of tuna a day, and i have to eat 'what the table supplies' instead of a chicken breast each day etc), can i replace these 'natural' proteins by drinking lots of potein shakes a day ? like 3 or 4, instead of 1 or 2 ?
or is there a limit as to how effective they are when you use them excessively ? or would it even be unhealty ?

here's what i now eat a day;

8:00 banana, kiwi, hmm what's it in english, breakfast grains ?
10:00 weight gainer (prolly about 75-100 g and 200 cl milk)
12:00 the usual meal... mostly about half a bread with something from a chicken or a can of tuna every few days...
15:00 apple and something else (like chips)
16:30 (pre workout every other day): banana, 2nd weight gainer
18:00 (post workout every other day): banana, protein shake
19:00 dinner... always something with high carbs (either spaghetti or potatoes) mostly with some chicken/fish/meat
21:00 2... wuz the name in english... rice+milk+vanilla = ... ^^
22:30 something else... some nuts or another piece of fruit or so

total protein without the shakes would prolly be about 50-60... with, about 90-110 (haven't done 3 shakes a day yet but if i do it would be something like this)

how does it look ? is there something vital missing; like the an inevitable can of tuna every morning or so ?

(sorry for my annoying questions and my bad english ;p )

moms wont put out for the tuna but its ok for the mass gainer and protein 95? :(

if you're in a bind, use the shakes. you could also look into eggs and cottage cheese if possible.

Ive got the same problem, my mum owns the kitchen so I cant just go in and sort out some chicken or pasta. Its difficult to get the protein intake at my place, Im still trying to work out how Im going to do it.

no chance discussing it with her and asking her for help?
