Which is better?

I'm a newbie to working out with weights. Could you tell me which you think is better, and why?

Option 1:
Monday: Chest
Tuesday: Biceps
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Triceps
Friday: Shoulders
Saturday: Back

OR

Option 2:
Monday: Chest and Back
Tuesday: Legs and ass
Wednesday: Shoulders and arms
Thursday: Chest and Back
Friday: Legs and ass
Saturday: Shoulders and arms

I agree with tenpercent. I prefer full body workouts.

But I think it depends on your goal. If your goal is growing huge and muscular, splits can be good.
But for fat loss (ripped look) and medium muscle mass or less, I would recommend full body workouts.

Your diet is important as well. To become huge and muscular you must eat a lot and somewhat healthy. To become fit, toned, ripped etc you must eat less and very healthy.
 
I wouldn't start with a split like that while being a newbie. I'd start with either a full body workout 3 times a week, and upper lower split or a push pull split, both of which would be 4 days a week.
 
First things first. What is your goal?

On a general note, full body workout a minimum of 3 times a week makes more sense for someone just starting out.
 
A noob should definitely look at a FBW like the 5x5 which has 8 exercises Squat, Bench Press, Overhead Press, Deadlift, Barbell Rows, Pullups & chinups and Dips. Within 6 months you can squat 1.5 times your own body weight, enough to get a good foundation.
