Whey Protein

I've been meaning to purchase a tub of Whey Protein lately online (heard it was much cheaper online?). There are a million brands out there. I don't know where to start. My goal is to put on weight (weighing at 130lbs, my goal by the end of this year is 140lbs) through a healthy diet and some help from protein supplements (because seriously, it's really hard to get your protein recommendations when you've got a busy life). Anyone know of any specific brands that helped them accomplish such goals? As of now, I'm just eating as much as I can and working out (at home, basic stuff like push ups, crunches, and an old 5lb dumbell I found... going to buy some new ones when I get the chance, which, what lbs should I get?). I've seen a difference in my body after about 2 months of this doing it everyday for about 30 minutes (bigger biceps, chest, light 6 pack... relatively speaking to when I wasn't working out though... compared to others, my arms are still pretty stick-like and my torso is pretty small.)

Ok, well, as you can see this wasn't a really clearly thought out post... the questions are everywhere! But I was wondering if anyone could answer them, and if you're confused about anything, ask.. I'll gladly clarify. Thanks in advanced for the help!

I've heard optimum 100% is quite good, also Dynamitize. Have a look on ebay this is the cheapest place to get them from in my opinion.
Good luck with the weight gains.

optimum rules and it tastes just like a regular milkshake. i had EAS before this and the difference in taste is unbelievable and from the first 2 replies it sounds like im not alone

I"m a fan of Nitrean from (only place you can get it, cuz they make it).

taste is good, amino profile is good, and its a whey/casien blend which I feel is superior to 100% whey in all situations.

Do they sell that Nitrean in any smaller quantities? I would like to try it and make sure that it tastes decent and doesn't go right through me (like pure whey) before I buy 4.6 lbs of it

that's the only size they sell. however I would suggest you call or email them and ask them if there's any chance they could send you a sample. they might do it...they are pretty cool dudes.
one time I missed a sale by two days, ordered anyways, and one of the guys gave me the discount after the fact.

Anyhow, all three flavors are good. VERY good. the vanilla has a hint of butterscotch to it. teh chocolate is not overpowering...the strawberry is mild, but its my favorite for PWO because the added dextrose gives it enough sweetness that it tastes EXACTLY like strawberry nestle quick.

I keep all 3 flavors on hand for variety. my wife likes them all too, but she prefers ON's vanilla ice cream flavor slightly more than vanilla nitrean, but not enough that we keep ON around all the time.

Im a fan of whatever tastes best. Dont buy into all the marketing hype. If you work-out correctly and your diet is good for the most part, brand A versus brand B of protein wont make much difference if any.

First, thanks Malkore for the recommendation!

Next, if anyone wants to try Nitrean we will provide you a 100% guarantee on the first jug you get (1 jug). If you don't like it, we will provide you a 100% refund to include the shipping charges.

We do provide samples when they are accompanied by an order. So, you can take advantage of the guarantee and get samples of the other flavors with it.

As an aside, Nitrean is recommended by many industry experts. This is a diverse group ranging from powerlifting Guru (and Westside Barbell owner) Louie Simmons to the editors of Men's Health magazine (March issue).

It is truly a superior product which will show you what a quality protein supplement can really do for you.

Please feel free to check out our other products when you are on our site. We don't sell crap, only products which work as claimed and are of the highest quality.

Without wanting to start an argument, you are incorrect. Check out the study referenced in the Men's Health article which recommended our product. It demonstrated the superiority of a protein blend as ours.

I'll play mediator here....you can't buy into the marketing hype...but you can buy into the products that use research to achieve the final formula. If the product claims "it'll make you huge!!!" its hype.

research has proven over and over that a whey + casien protein is superior to 100% whey. Thus, Nitrean is a whey blend.

All of atlarge's products are like this...and thus they only have a small selection of products...because they only sell stuff that actually has an effect. vitamins, ETS, creatine, protein, weight gainer, and 2 fat burners.

Best whey hands down... this is awsome stuff out there and reasonably priced compared to the competition...
Bodybuilding.com - Optimum 100% Whey Protein - With Faster-Acting HYDROWHEY! On sale now!

Is the whey protein in the following link the same as the stuff you linked to? I only ask because I don't see it mention Hydrowhey anywhere on the amazon page.

Amazon.com: 100% Whey Protein - Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate 5.15 lbs: Health & Personal Care

Thanks

The Best Whey Protein hands down....

What was yesterdays tip of the day?
:)

Oh and by the way I started at just under 130lbs (about 128) in January and now I am just over 140lbs.

The supplements I use are:

Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex Gainer (for the added calories, it does work!)
EAS Myopro 100% Whey
Creatine Monohydrate
Dextrose (just got this other day)
Multivitamin (one every morning)
Fish oil capsule (one every morning)

Combined with a relaxed 6-7 meal a day diet and 3-4 full body workouts a week I am not doing bad :)

One multi a day is (unless its the size of a thumb) not enough for benefit.
Same rule applies for fish oil(3Mg a day max).

Should I have 2 multivitamins a day then?

Well it depends on the % in them. Most multis (all i have ever seen) are 3 pills a day. Read the entire pill bottle it should say how many pills a day.
If it just says one then i ask how big is that damn pill.:p
