Laura,

I'm glad you got things out into the open with the ex. I bet that feels like a weight off your shoulders, huh?

I've been struggling lately too with wanting a treat, but not being able to stop at just one (or two, or ten :blush5: ). And then the GUILT afterwards! I'm exploring some options to help myself with this because I just can't continue sabatoging myself like this! I'll let you know if I find anything helpful.

Enjoy your day!

Laura - glad to hear you've got everything out in the open with your ex! You must feel so much better now! BTW the St. Patty's Day themed lunch sounds great- I'm going to be having one tomorrow, I'll have to make sure I stick to healthy choices though :).

Tigpuppy - just read your post above and totally know what you mean about food guilt! Its crazy how much my mind has changed throughout this weight loss journey. Now If I eat naughty foods I get harsh food guilt- and even sometime when I don't lol!

The other day I was at a dinner for my friends birthday. I was pretty good and stuck to salad and chicken and shrimp, only had one taste of the pasta and one tiny bite of cake and no bread! That night when I went to bed I kept dreaming that I was at the dinner again but that I was cowing out on all this food and birthday cake, then I was feeling all guilty thinking why did I do that to myself when I woke up and realized it was a dream =P

Funny the games your mind can play on you.

Keep up the great work ladies :D

About the ex - I do feel a lot better, about everything… especially because I only moved about 6/10 of a mile away from him, and sometimes I felt nervous about going to old places with the new guy. He and I went to a grocery store that I NEVER go to on Saturday just because I knew I’d feel weird at the old one. Not that I was doing anything wrong, but I just wanted to avoid the awkward first encounter. Maybe now I can go back to my favorite sub shop! I’ve been avoiding it for months, haha. I respect the ex a lot for putting everything out there. He sounded very mature, like he’d grown up in the past couple months. Which I’m sure he has.

I've gotta update my food for today and yesterday, but I'm exhausted on the train and figured posting would keep me awake!

Planning on a long, easy run as soon as I get home. Might run outside for the first time since Thanksgiving... It's warm and sunny out, but also WINDY! So we shall see. I'd also have to find a new route, since I don't have one mapped out from the new apartment yet.

Since I started sort of paying attention to calories again, I realize how badly I've been doing. You'll see when I post again later... Five beers and McDonald's last night. Oh, the shame! Gotta step it up a little.

I signed up for a 10k on April 3. Supposed to a beautiful course near the water. I'm pumped to get back into racing! I need it to keep me motivated. It'll be nice to have a warm-up for the relay.

Soooooo tired.... St. Patrick's Day was fun, but I am paying for it now!

45 minutes of swimming lessons; I missed last week because I couldn't find the strap to hold my top up. And trust me, it needs that strap! Boyfriend found it over the weekend ON TOP of my dryer, which is at least 6 inches higher than my head. Silly place to put it.

Thanks for the support, Hana! I have to get those desserts in check, though; making cookies this weekend was probably not the best idea, whoopsie.

The moon this weekend was *beautiful*. Biggest & brightest in 18 years, I think? I had forgotten about it, and then we saw it as we were driving down the highway towards my apartment, a little bit after the sun went down. My city is on the ocean, and upon seeing it (and my excitement) my boyfriend, without hesitation, asked me which exit to take so we could drive along the water. We got off and found our way there, and seeing it over the water was absolutely amazing. You could see the reflection on the harbor, and there were people parked and taking pictures all along the beach. And there was just something about that moment, looking over at him from the passenger seat after taking an unexpected detour to see the moon; I wouldn't go as far as to say I fell in love, but if there was ever a moment for it, that was it. Everything was just perfect.

That sounds amazing :D I loved that moon..I went a smoked a joint on a the beach with my friends and watched it over the water, was one of those beautiful moments you don't get very often.
Crazy to think we all look at the same sky, huh.

So things are getting pretty serious with boyfriend then?!

(sigh)

Looking at the moon over the water with your boyfriend - SO romantic! I'm so bummed I missed that moon here! Stupid blizzard blocked out seeing ANYTHING for a couple of days. It would have been amazing to see that moon over the pristine snow covered fields here.

How the heck would your swimsuit strap have gotten way up on top of the dryer??? Boyfriend isn't doing your laundry is he? My hubby is not quite 6 ft tall and he's always complaining about how dirty it is on top of the refridgerator. I tell him if I don't see it, it's not really dirty, and therefore I don't have to clean it. If it bothers him, HE should clean it! LOL!

Sounds like your training for the upcoming run is going well - keep up the great work!

Have an awesome weekend!

I'm with Tigs there - that sounds like the best night! We had totally overcast skies for the moon :( but I did get to see it a few days later out my front window!
I'm so glad you're doing the swimming, you're awesome Laura :coolgleamA:

Swimming is the best, and it's great to hear things are going so good with the now official BF :)

The moon really was spectacular. And that was without even stopping the car. I can't even imagine how nice it would have been to have spent time on the beach like you, Hana! Jess, glad it was still pretty a few days later but Tig, you totally missed out!!!

Things *are* getting pretty serious with the new guy... He's really incredible. I still can't figure out what he sees in me! I love how well he knows me already. We met a ton of friends of his this weekend and he knew the two I would like the best before we got there. On Sunday nights I sometimes get a little upset with myself for being unproductive over the weekend and he caught me at the very first second of feeling bad and stopped a meltdown. Literally by grabbing my waist and shouting "No meltdown!" and making me laugh. Yesterday I went to grab a couple of pieces of beef jerky, and I had three different flavors to choose from. He correctly guessed which flavors I grabbed (1 piece of the spiciest and one of the least spicy, to mellow it out). Which may sound silly, but it meant something to me.

I'm super jealous of the amazing group of friends he has. They are welcoming me with open arms, but at this point they're still "my boyfriend's friends," ya know? We went to lunch on Saturday to this place that has WICKED spicy wings. There were fourteen of us in all, and I knew three people (boyfriend and the people who introduced me to boyfriend). Only four girls, and I think I was the only one who ate even one wing (I ended up fighting through two.) At one point and time the guy waayyyy at the other end of the table (we were sitting at a long table, and he and I were both at the corners of one side, so five people in between) shouted at boyfriend "Wait is she eating the wings??" Boyfriend said "Heck yeah, she is!" and then was told I'm a keeper! :) Made me feel good to hang with the boys a little.

Tig, the running is going.... ok, I guess. For the second week in a row I went three days without running, had a terrible run one day (no surprise there) and then an awesome run the next day. I'm hoping that I will remember this and STOP taking three days off! I ran 5.82 in an hour yesterday before work, after doing two miles on the elliptical and maybe a mile and a half on the treadmill the night before. My legs were pretty tired this morning, so I settled on a one mile run and two on the elliptical. Swimming tonight, and tomorrow I am going to run outside for the first time since November!!! Gotta do it tomorrow before the stupid snow comes back. I am ready for SPRING!!

The swimming is going well, though! Still having trouble with putting my face in the water, but I'm making progress. Last time he had me jumping into the pool off the side. I think the deepest was eight feet. THAT was scary to me at first! Now it's ok, but only if I plug my nose... He only made me do it once without plugging, and I came up coughing like crazy. My max time at treading water was thirty seconds last time, up from 17 seconds on day 1. I'm getting better!!

lol that's so cool about the wings Laura (that those guys said that)! Doing good w/ the meals! I like when you wrote binge alert! lol =)

Wow, that night with the moon sounded so romantic!! Awwwww :D

Food is looking great, I'm terrible with the sweet stuff too. It's the devil!

The sweets have been killing me lately! I don't know what happened but I suddenly lost all control! Too many baked goods... Boyfriend baked me a whole cake for my birthday earlier this month, I made a whole batch of cookies for us, then I made him cupcakes for HIS birthday... And of course all of those things stayed at my apartment and not his, ugh!!

I ran outside last night! Around a 5k distance, I'd guess, along the same beach where I saw the moon. Much less exciting this time, but still pretty. I will definitely do that again. I sat and looked out at the water for a few minutes after I was done. Would have stayed longer but it was dark and I was alone. I absolutely needed the fresh air to revive my running spirit. I was driving home all pumped for my next run! Too bad there is SNOW in our forecast for tomorrow... Will it ever stop?!?!?
