Some gums can defenitely be good, some can help balance pH levels in the os. and stomach, which can sometimes reduce pain.

Do you know any specific gums that can be good?

And also how about just something that helps with bad breath that isn't terrible for you?

Try putting some salt into a glass and add water, mix in mouth for about 30seconds. The saltwater is very basic and will nutruelise the acidity in the mouth. Ive tried it once, tasted yuk but very effective!

I think your from another country so i wouldnt be familar some of the chewing gum. sugarfree is a must, and i swear some packets had labels on them or something that signified it was a benefit. :D

hah, well thanks for the saltwater thing, I might test that sometime.. ha i dunno though.

Does anybody know of any gum that isn't so bad for you then? Or any breath mints or something of that nature?

the best cure for bad breathe is Floss, brush, and Scrape.
Floss in between the teeth, brush the teeth and scrape the tongue.

Bad dental hygiene is a precursor to bad overall health. Thats right, That bacteria in your mouth causes inflammation not only in your mouth but throughout your arterial system!

there are good mints though, Go to a health/organic type store and go look. I promise that will be the only place where you can find mints that are not loaded with a bunch of detrimental crap.

I've heard that chewing parsley helps with bad breath.

If you have a Whole Foods nearby, maybe they offer a selection of chewing gum that's more healthy than what you can buy otherwise...?

I grew up on , , , and . :D :D :D

There are some other factors that contribute to bad breath. What you eat can affect how your breath smells: garlic & onions--and foods that are prepared with them--cause bad breath that's mostly unrelated to oral hygiene. Same with coffee and some cheeses. (You'll probably have garlic-breath until after you've finished completely digesting the garlic.)

The other thing that comes to mind is ketosis. If you put yourself into ketosis for the sake of Atkins, you'll probably have stinky breath. My one friend did Atkins for a year and WOW was his breath CRAP.

A co-worker gets horrible breath in between meals. He eats three (big) meals a day (instead of numerous smaller ones). He takes excellent care of his teeth, but the problem is that he goes a long time in between meals and I suspect that he's excreting excess ketones too because more often than not, he'll develop AWFUL breath in between meals. Like nauseatingly awful breath.
