what should you eat the dinner before/after you workout?

well usually the dinner before AND the dinner after my workout i would make a big ass hogie with mustard,vermont chedder cheese,usually ham and some other meat maybe,jalepinos,hot banana pepper rings,ranch dressing (really not sure if i should eating that), crushed red pepper,olives,vinegar, and hot sauce. its alot but its an awesome hogie :D
 
oh yeah and should i cange something im putting on my hogie or not eat a hogie like that at all, or should i just eat it for the dinner prior to my workout or what?
 
The hoagie sounds delicious, although it isn't considered clean at all. Cold cuts are very processed, the roll is not good as they aren't 100% whole wheat, ranch dressing isn't too good, and neither is cheddar - also very processed.

I usually have 3 oz. grilled chicken w/ 2 cups green veggies, "stir-fried" in a skillet w/ 1/2 T canola oil for my suppers.
