What is the skinny on the after-effects vs. regular aerobics

Hey all,

I've read some articles about this and the general consensus is that you only raise your metabolism for about an hour or so after aerobics, or burn about 20 calories per day in addition to your routine. I've read that hiit though raises your metabolism for as much as 48 hours after a workout. At any rate, does anybody here have any info to back this up, or maybe more detailed info about the metabolic benefits of using hiit vs. traditional cardio? I'm mainly looking for the difference in the resting after effects.

Thanks all,

Mike
