what is bulking and what are you trying to gain by doing it?
Bulking is somthing that is generally done by men. It basically means putting on muscle mass. This is accomplished by lifting heavy weights at low reps. For example with any weight lifting exercise, you would lift as much weight as you possibly can 4 or 5 times. You would do this 2, 3, or 4 times. Each time you perform the exercise is called a set. Each time you lift the weight it is called a rep, or repetition. There are a few important things to remember when bulking, or doing any workout routien. Never do the same routien for more than six weeks straight. What I'm talking about is muscle confusion. If you do the same routien week after week, your body will adjust to it, and you won't get results as quickly. When you continue to work out and stop getting results it is called a plateau. So remember to change it up. Change the exercises you are doing. Change the weight you are lifting, change the reps, change the number of sets. Continue to keep your muscles guessing. On top of that, if you are bulking you need to eat, eat, eat, and eat some more. Now by that, I don't mean to go through the BK drive through five times a day. You need, a lot of protien, and a fair amount of carbs, and don't be afraid of fat, as long as it's unsaturated and not trans fat. Almonds are a good source of good fats. And they actually taste pretty good. Now, during a bulking phase, if you do it correctly, your going to pack on some muscle, but your also going to put on a little fat with it. Thats where the cutting phase comes in. Thats when you strip the fat off the top of the muscle that you've created, so you look toned and create the illusion that your carved out of wood. I'm still experimenting with cutting, so I'm not gonna offer any advice for that. But bulking is easy. Lift heavy, eat a lot, and change up the workouts. good luck
Bulking is the addition of muscle. Low reps/high weight is to build strength, medium reps/medium weight is for size. Eating and eating will not just add muscle. It takes a long time, and bulking is much harder and more time consuming than cutting. Read this article.
