What does the mind power actually mean????

Hi everyone, there are many questions that commonly arise when we discuss mind power, having influence and possibly control over things amd the ability to simply “make things happen”. Maybe these are all conceptual thoughts, and may be not. I do think about these things and it still puzzles me. What are your opinions on this and how do you perceive the power of mind???

Perception is reality.

Alter your perception, alter your reality.

IMO I think harnessing the power of the mind is about over coming both psychological and physical temptations to reach our goals, adhere to social/religious ethics and separate the physical and spritual from one and another.

The mind in it's self is weak. Drawn to temptation, easily influenced, tricked by illusion and given to take what its sees as fact. This is to be expected, after all the mind ( as in the physical mass of brain matter ) functions to interpret the world (see above comment) and describe it in the best way that it can using the tools (experiences, understanding, expectations, knowledge base) it has available to it.

Working in conjunction with our mind is our consciousness. You know you are alive, you know you can type on the keyboard. You can choose to do what you think you know is right.

This choice is the greatest power we have at our disposal. The choice to manifest change in our lives, in our habits and in some case but not often others.

The power of the mind is the ability to realise that you have the choice to effect change in your life, by using your mind to carry out the programming that you set for it.

Hope this helps you.

The mind is not drawn in to temptation, nor is it easily influenced. The flesh and the soul are your weakest links. Sex and greed, etc. have nothing to do with your mind. It's up to your mind to control what the flesh and the soul are doing ;)

Strengthen the mind with self-control, balance that with your body and spirit, and you've mastered your domain. Nothing can penetrate that type of fortress. Nothing.

I think you misinterpreted my definition of mind. I am refereeing to the mind as the physical matter, the flesh, and our consciousness as the fortress builder. I think we are on the same page, but we are using different words to describe the same thing.

I'm not so sure. Your subconscious mind drives most of what your conscious mind does (it does for most vertebrates). It's far more powerful than your conscious mind. However, we really have no apparent way of ever consciously "accessing" this information.

For example, if you are having a conflict, your subconscious wins every time. That's why people fail. They hear that part of their brain much louder than the conscious part because the subconscious mind is driven by about 5 billion neurons. The conscious only has about 5,000 neurons.

Just so that makes some visual sense, that means your subconscious is about the size of an elephant. Your conscious mind is about the size of an ant.

You are puzzled...maybe if you tell us how do you perceive the power of the mind first, that would help since you started this thread

QUOTE]

With respect we understand so little of our own subconscious that I can not endorse the statement that most vertebrates are driven by subconscious messages (how does having a spinal column mean that a creature is controlled by subconscious desires?).
However I agree that the subconscious mind influences humans in profound ways. This of course is where we can program our mind to change the way we react to any situation.

Our conscious mind, to me, is the urethral or spiritual component that gives us life. We have attempted to describe the conscious mind as best we can (which is what we do, rationalise), and define it into the prime and subconscious realms.

What you describe as the "mind" I describe as consciousness, without which we would be a lump of organic matter. So I will stick to my guns and suggest that we are approaching the same principal with different descriptions.

However you have raised a very worth while point in the education of our friend.

The subconscious mind is where we can "rewire" our thought patterns.

For example, we have all heard of mantras, such as

"Thank you for my friends and family"

Say this enough times, and you may find that your relationships with these people grow. Love is the most powerful force in the universe and can overcome all obstacles. Being grateful for what have is one of the most powerful things you can do in your life. Every night I thank the Universe for everything that I hold dear, the roof over my head, my beautiful partner, my friends, family, my cat, my education, the list goes on.

Repeating mantras is a great way to reprogram your subconscious thought process to enact change in your life.

"I am going to work"
"I will eat a healthy, balanced diet"

Furthermore, by visualising your goals, you are able to harness the power of the subconscious mind even further.

Earlier I suggested that mind is easily fooled. In no way am I trying to say it is weak (as in pathetic, correctly utilised it is the strongest force on the planet), I am simply stating the mind can only work with what information it has been given

Example.

Close your eyes. Think of a big juicy lemon, imagine its texture, the vivid yellow of its flesh. Now imagine you are about to take a nice big bite of it.

Can you taste the sourness in your mouth?

That’s my point, what information we give our mind, the data that we put into it is what we are going to get out of it.

I 100% agree with your statement that harnessing your mind and controlling your urges is going to build a fortress. I think it is a very powerful statement in fact!

So to our friend, I say, that if you want to know what the power of the mind is, first think about what you want. Visualise this goal and repeat it as fact. Then be thankful for you have now, and you will see change effect you. Not straight away, but it will happen.

Mind Power!

Mind power for me is knowledge and knowing how to apply it effectivley. Staying logically and emotionally focused is real discipline. When I am in react mode as opposed to response mode my feelings are running me. I tend to make a mess operating in react mode. My brain walks in 5 minutes later to try clean up the mess I just made. Auto suggestion, empowering thoughts and a plan is what helps me. What are your internal conversations about and what are you affirming to your self? When you don't believe in yourself no body else will. Point being is feed your mind with good things, empowering information and believe that what ever you conceive can be achieved! ilovesuccess

5000 neurons? I find that pretty hard to believe.. what do you mean by conscious mind exactly? 5000 neurons is nothing, we wouldn't even be able to imagine a box of cereal.
