What are the benifits of using a stability ball for core strengthening exercises..?

in comparison to just doing floor workouts e.g crunches on the floor. which gives better results?.

As you can tell I'm new to fitness:action2:.
 
a stability ball will put u slightly off balance and u'll have to inadvertently use your stabiliser muscles to stabilise yourself while doing crunches for example. that will lead to a stronger core. but i don't use stability balls as i feel that bicycle crunches on the ground are enough for me. you can check out bicycle crunches and a lower ab workout on my blog: [link removed]
