weights

i just started lifting weights again... is it good to start protien shakes right away or how does it work?

Consume a protein/carb shake immediatly following your weight training routine. You can utlize whey protein and dextrose for a fast acting carb as this will replenish muscle glycogen stores and shuttle the protein to your muscles.

ok also if im just using a bench and doing upper body then is it still alright to drink a protien shake? or do you need to be doing cardio in order to drink that?

i just dont want to be taking these protien shakes when they are only used during cardio...
There is no need to consume a pro/carb shake after cardio unless you run a marathon.

you need to start reading and doing some research or get a couple sessions with a good physical trainer. There's a lot to know and learn and you're not going to even scratch the surface by posting single questions on here. But if you know exactly what you are doing and why when going in, you will be a step ahead of 75% of the people you see in your gym. Good luck!

ok so heres my questions...
im working upper body... no cardio (tredmill or running) other then the daily walking etc...
should i be drinking a protien shake after each workout or not?
also if its a yes say i work out once in the morning and once at night.. is it healthy to have 2 protien shakes? (one morning and one night)

because i wouldnt know where to start

Then why are you drinking shakes? LV told you twice, drink it after a workout. Protein is the fuel for the muscles, and if you read the directions it will say, Drink after workout.

Read the supplement FAQ, also where this post should be.
