Weightloss Diary

I consider cigarettes a major bullet dodged. There was a kid's health campaign that came around schools in Australia when I was little (I think they still do) and one year they had a "say no to smoking" segment, which included ingredients of cigarettes. I was about 9. My memory is something along the lines of a diagram reading (among other things) "paint stripper... for flavour." That was 1995, and just thinking about that brings back vivid memories of how terrified/ horrified that thought made me.

Yeah, they are pretty grim. I'm very addicted though and have no desire to quit at the moment. I think you really have to *want* to quit, the same way you have to *want* to lose weight. I'd NEVER smoke when pregnant or around a child and still only smoke around 5 a day but I do enjoy it. I've rolled my own since I was very, very young and I still enjoy it. Guilty pleasure. But I know how awful it is more my health..Exercise would be a lot easier if I didn't smoke.

Amy - I know I need to eat veg. I will try new ones on shopping day on thursday! - Cant get any before that.

I have been smoking over a year now and did have my first cigarette around age 11-12. I agree with you Hana, I have heard stories when people stop they pile so much weight on. I suppose they do that because they eat more because they are craving. I also think the same! Tackle one thing at once!

Thanks for the advice guys! Im trying to improve my diet everyday!

xoxo

I wouldn't keep coming back if I thought you were a lost cause, Eric :) I'm being annoying and bugging you about this stuff because I think you're genuinely trying and can do better.

Cigarettes are not something I'll harp on- that to me is in a different kettle of fish due to the addiction nature of it. I've said my piece, you know how I feel, I'm sure you already knew the facts, I'm leaving it there.

As its tuesday, its hard to find healthy things to eat, although I dont feel as I have done bad today. I'm just getting bored of eating the same foods..
I guess I really need to look into the things to eat so I can add it to the shopping list this week.

Only done 10 minutes on the exercise machine today, as Ive done something to my neck and its absolutely killing me!

How's everyone else getting on?

xoxoxo

I just had to get this off my chest before going to sleep!
Ive just ate a pancake. was a mix made up.. only contained water and 1 egg for the whole mix.
I added some orange to it, with a sprinkle of sugar.
Will this effect me?
xo

So last night I ate a pancake, I was so concious I would atleast gain on the scales this week. Although its not weigh-in till monday, I just had to step on the scales to see if I had put on. It turns out I havnt! the scales went down a tiny little bit!

Happy with that result!

How's everyone getting on today?

Im dreading thursday.. Bad foods enter the house! including chocolate which I havnt ate for nearly 2 whole weeks! :(.
Its killing me now, but I know its for the best and I will be happy when monday's weigh-in comes. Id be so happy If i lost 3.8 pounds this week, then thats half a stone in 2 weeks. I know it won't happen realistically, but I can keep hoping!

Sorry I haven't been around, things have been bad for me (I'm not going to go over it again, it's in my diary). "Bad" food like pancakes and chocolate isn't going to kill you- as long as you have it in small amounts, the calories add up, and your nutrition's right/ it's not at the expense of the rest of your nutrition. I haven't had pancakes in forever, but I actually have chocolate reasonably regularly.

You've got very big aspirations for your weight loss- you should expect to lose no more than a kilogram (2.2lb) a week, and even that's probably exceptional. Especially given you already have a healthy BMI, that will make it harder to lose weight.

Day eleven and twelve!

Day 11
Breakfast - 30g sugar puffes, 100ml milk - 163 Calories
Dinner - 2 x wholemeal bread, 1/2 tin beans - 431 Calories
Tea - batchelors garlic and mushroom pasta - 444 Calories
Snacks
2 x apple - 100 Calories
6 Jumbo snackerjacks - 240 Calories
Total - 1378

Okay, so today was a celebration of finishing a certain subject in school, so we had a party..

Breakfast - 30g sugar puffs, 100ml milk - 163 Calories
4 Jumbo snackerjacks - 260 Calories

It got to dinner and we ate bad food, I had
1 and a half doughnut:(
2 snall slices of pizza
2 small pieces of garlic bread
Around 10 wedges.

I am so dissapointed that I ate these foods, but I thought, this is a one time only thing, its not as if I can do it again.
I have decided to not eat tea, as I feel as I have gone over 1500 Calories, especially how bad doughnuts are!!!

I hope I dont put on weight this week!!

:( :(

Eric, skipping meals is a bad idea. Make sure that you have something for your evening meal tonight, even if it is something very light. Yes, by the looks of things you'll be over 1500 calories today, but the things you've eaten will be very low on nutrients, so you should have something to make up for that.

Everyone slips up. There's no way to avoid this sort of food forever and ever and ever, at least for most of us. You're still forming healthy habits and ultimately creating a positive trend which will lead to results. Don't stress too much about it.

:d

Thanks Amy and Hana.

I will have something very light then. drinking as much water as possible!!!

how have you both been getting on?

xoxoxo:grouphug:

Yeah, I just finished Uni forever yesterday! So I'll be around a bit more :) Eat well today, Eric! I'll be watching!!! *evil laugh*

Wow, the idea of finishing uni forever is scary.

(I would've been in your shoes in 2006 if I'd chosen to just get my BA. That's more scary)

Update!

Hey everyone. Sorry I havnt updated in the last two days!
I have had some bad news and been revising for my exams coming up this week!

So yeah, the diet has been going well but I have to admit, I have let myself slip a little over the last two days! (Not with chocolate)!

This morning was weigh in, I really wanted a good result as I lost 3.2 pounds last week, this week I stepped on the scales and lost 1.8 pounds(nearly 2 pounds). I am happy with this result although its not as good as the first week. 2 more pounds to go then I have lost half a stone in 3 weeks!!!

I will continue the diary this week and stay motivated as I want to reach that half a stone!

How's everyone getting on?

xoxoxo
