weighted pull ups/ dips

Hi, I am wondering if it's ok if I add weights when doing pull-ups and dips. When doing dips or pull ups, I have a ten pound medicine ball and five pound ankle weights on each ankle that I use while doing sets. To be less vague on the question I asked previouse, would adding weight to these excercises damedge joints. I figured that it would be necessary to ask this before continueing on with the excercise, so sorry about the noobish question. :D

I agree.....in fact, to continue to see increases in strength and muscle, added resistance is necessary.

I love/hate weighted pullups and dips. Love them because they are so effective, hate them because they are so draining. Only takes a few sets to get the same effects as 10 sets of anything else. I have been doing them off and on for 40 years and never had any injuries from them.

lol i no exactly what you mean. i love them and hate them at the same time...kinda like squats XD. but deadlifts...i just love. chinups, i love, pullups i hate/love

Deadlifting is fun, but I will always hate pull-ups...though I can't do one yet. I have to use this chin-up machine so I can add resistence to help my weak back.
