weighted crunches

ok, i do meh crunches. i kind of have my own crunches that i do though. i dont know if they are bad but i do them anyway. i do my crunch and my leg lifts at the same time if you know what im saying. and to get my obliques i scissor my legs, beleive me it does work. the first time i tried scissoring my legs my sides were sore as hell. i do about 5 sets of about 60-70. my abs are solid as hell too, except for that little amount at the bottom which doesnt bother me. cause just about everybody else has the same problem ;) so maybe its just how the human body is? but anyway, i know by holding a weight on my chest i can weight train more my upper abs, but how would i weight train my leg lifts? i could get those strap on weights that strap to the ankle but, yeah....i dont have those. so any alternatives?

oh man, i never thought of that. really i never did. and i plan on getting some strap on ankle weights too so. would those be better than doing leg lifts laying on the ground?

Do a reverse crunch w/ weights:
Instead of lifting your chest to crunch up, keep your knees bent 90degrees and lift them into your chest - and hold a dumbbell between your knees. I usually use a 20# dumbbell. It works well for the lower part of the abdomen.

its called a 6pack but...yeah, mine only looks like a 4pack. is it because my lower abs dont show enough? or whats up with that. genetics? im sure youve seen that little hercules kid who is jacked on steroids. hes not a little kid anymore but, i saw him on TV doing those dip leg lifts thing, and he said yeah, i have an 8 pack right now and im working on a 10pack...iwas like ummmm. maybe i remember it wrong or something but is there a way to to build up your abs like that?

A clean diet!
I don't mean eating less and "dieting", but a diet as in what you eat everyday. Abs are made in the kitchen. If you eat a clean diet, you will lose some body fat and your lower abs ought to start showing.

Listen to her, she knows of what she speaks :D

You can build abs week after week until the cows come home, what good are they if their covered in a wall of fat?

oh trust me, mine arent, even when i dont flex. they just arent as prominent as when i flex. i know you people know what im talking about, supper rock hard in my upper abs, just have that extra ( cellulite????????????????????? what is it anyway ) whatever down below. and i really only see peoples lower abs who are so skinny you can see their cheek bones and sheit. i dont want to look super skinny like that. it doent bother me, im just asking cause i know my stomach still looks better than most all other peoples at my school or as good. the girls notice

yes, yes we do ;)

I think people's lower abs are the giveaway for how serious they are w/ their training/diet.

though i got a gf, ill keep that in mind for her

are theyre any better side ab ( obliques? ) workouts that are like better than others? i find those twisting crunch things pretty annoying to do. but if thats all their is, then you know

side bends are, standing up and twisting my body to the side, keeping my head facing forward? or i like lean to the side? or..is it laying on the ground on my side, and like doing a crunch with my side

Standing straight, with a dumbbell in your right hand. Bend using your waist to the right side while sliding the weight down the side of your leg. Come back up slowly. Repeat and finish reps. Switch to the left side.
