Weight Loss Warrior

Hey, you're the one doing the pounce and tackle bit!

And yes, I am "cheeky". lol
I've been getting in trouble for it for many, many years, and it's probably not going to stop anytime soon. Weren't we supposed to be talking about YOU in this thread? ;)

But of course we're supposed to talk about ME in this thread. After all... I AM the star of the show. I'm royalty... dontcha know?

Okay... So mom's always said that the world doesn't revolve around me. Thank GOD. We'd all be screwed if it did. Hmmm.......... *ponders*

Anyway... SOmetimes it's nice to NOT talk about weight and eating and everything like that. But even so... considering this IS a weight loss sight... here are the stats for today

Cheerios and Oranges for breakfast. 2 Soft shelled tacos for lunch. 4 Small banana muffins for snack. Ok... I screwed up at dinner. We went to McDonald's and I'm way tooo emabarassed to write what I actually consumed... but I had water with it. Instead of that big frothy... frosty... green... milkshake... *Drools* I should have given up Fast Food for Lent. Suppose there's still time to do it? Just go a week longer than Easter to make up? Hmmm.

No gym this week :( My fiancee might have fractured his knee at work. Right now it's just swollen and sore and he has to go back. Yeah I know I could still go but... I don't remember how to get there. He takes all these back roads and I would totally get lost. I'm so horrible with directions I couldn't find my way out of a paper bag with a flood light and a map. *Frown*

Here's to a fresh start next week. A chance to start over. No more Cheekiness please. I cannot handle it. :D Ok... It makes me giggle so.. carry-on!

*HUGS*

Green Milkshake? Mmmm....

You did good by giving it up! Before you feel your regreats, I want to show you something. This is from the McDonalds website, and it is their chocolate shake, but all of their shakes are similar numbers.

Serving Cal Fat
333 ml 420 10 Strawberry Triple Thick® Shake (12 fl oz cup)
444 ml 560 13 Strawberry Triple Thick® Shake (16 fl oz cup)
583 ml 740 18 Strawberry Triple Thick® Shake (21 fl oz cup)
888 ml 1110 26 Strawberry Triple Thick® Shake (32 fl oz cup)

So, take a look at which size you would have ordered and think about what you didn't eat with your meal that you already regret. It could be worse. ;)

Sorry your guy is all tore up, but you should have him tape some of your dance workouts, since he's got the downtime. ;) After all, it is his fault you're not going to the gym, now isn't it?

WoW! That's crazy cause I would have gotten a LARGE shake. Which would have made it like... practically 750 calories! Whoo! Thank God for some self-control! Thanks! That like totally made me feel better!

Today's Stats:
3 small pancakes and 1/2 cup oranges/bananas. Lunch was three slices of HOMEMADE pizza and a small-medium salad. Snack was two graham crackers. Dinner... Not so well. Dinner seems to be my downfall. We went to Friendly's cause Jim's b-day is tomorrow and he has to work. I did have a side salad before the meal.. so that was good. I did drink water too.

I've decided that each month I'm going to challenge myself to something different. For the month of March I'm going to try and not eat meat. Just to see what happens and how it goes. It will be hard but I'm sure if I push myself, I can do it. Who knows... maybe I'll become a vegetable! *Smile*

Hopefully I'll be inspired to do one of my workouts this weekend. *Sighs* One can only hope... and NO... NO ONE is videotaping me shaking my buddha belly!!!

lol, who cares about meat! Meat is good for you! Try to do a whole month without CHEESE!

Or SALAD DRESSING!

go NUTS and say "No Dairy"!!!

You might be a little more circumspect and set your goal to "No Red Meat" or something.

So what do I get for making you feel better? Maybe a diary post?

I couldn't LIVE without dairy! I'd be like... lost without it if I went a month. I know that meat isn't all that bad for you but it's like the stuff I DO eat... is always covered in grease and smothered with this and that. I just wanted to see what would happen. My dad lost a LOT of weight just by eating salads.

And what do you mean by "Maybe a diary post"? Huh? Huh? What? Hugs aren't good enough for you?

*runs away sobbing hysterically... locks herself in the closet*

Awww, looky there, petty attempts at manipulation. So sad... so sad... :p

*props a chair against the doorknob*

Muahahahahaha! I think I'll come back... soon.

HEY! Now that's NOT fair! Instead of doing something productive yesterday afternoon... I watched the Boogeyman... it spooked me out. Now you've locked me in the closet... I don't really appreciate that.... at all *pout*

Went to a Buffett to celebrate the Fiancee's birthday. I only had like... a plate. I had a slice of ham, corn, red roasted taters and a stale bun... that I did not eat. After that I was full. Usually I could clear the plate and go up least three more times. Hmm... there's something strange going on.

hehe i usually fill up on veges so i can eat lots without actually eating anything calorie dense. But its weird how you end up being used to smaller portions anyway eh?

I WISH I were getting used to smaller portions!
It's actually the hardest part of eating right, for me. The calorie dense foods taste best (generally), and I still need to eat large meals in order to feel any sense of satisfaction or even to just hold off a gnawing hunger. I went to a buffet yesterday, a SALAD buffet, and I still had about 1000 calories. At least they were all HEALTHY calories, eh? ;)

Congrats, Koa! You were satisfied with a normal portion at a buffet built to overfeed people; that might sound silly, but it actually says a lot about your mindset and the retraining going on in your head. It shows that you are rebuilding your habits to be better, and it demonstrates a lot of inner strength.

And yes, even if you WANTED to go back for seconds, you didn't feel compelled to do so; so it COUNTS! :p

Aww, heck. I oughta let you out of there sometime soon... See ya later! :D

I wish we had one of those Salad Buffets around here somewhere. I would eat and eat and eat... Mmmm salad!

I think I'm getting sick. My nose is getting stuffy... and not the usual allergy type stuffy. I'm tired.

More later. I guess...

*bangs on closet door*

I didn't do too bad this morning. I only had like a cup of pasta, 1/4th cup of carrots... a bowl of cheerios for breakfast. Dinner... I have no idea.

First off... can I just say that being sick sucks!? The only "good" thing about it is that I lose my sense of taste and appetite. But I hate feeling like I should be in bed all day long and being miserable.

I did pretty decent yesterday. I had a bowl of oatmeal with raisins... Still HATE... wait... I despise oatmeal. It's disgusting and no matter how much brown sugar and syrup I put on it... it's still the nastiest thing. *Shudders* Sorry if I offend you Oatmeal Lovers. :( For lunch I had a bowl of veggie soup and a turkey sand. on wheat with mustard... and cheese. Yum. Plus some oranges. For dinner I had another turkey sand. as was in a hurry.

Went to the John Mayer concert last night. It was completely and totally awesome. He NEVER disappoints me. And Mat Kearney was pretty rockin' too. So I ended up standing all night and jumping around and dancing. Not a bad way to spend the evening. Except... now I can't talk and I'm like... worn out. Hehe.

I ordered some jeans the other day and they came. Finally. I'm so happy cause they fit. I actually have BUTTON jeans that fit. Not the elastic ones. I'm so happy. I thought about taking pictures but I look like s*** so I decided not to. I'm so happy though. Who'da thunk it?!

Day One

Today is the first day of my vegetarian diet. So far so good. I tried this new recipe. It's basically wheat pasta with sauteed veggies on top. It's actually very yummy. We decided to keep it in our recipe box for another time. Also bought some Ground Boca and Boca Chicken patties. Hope they're good! :)

The scale said I lost 2lbs since saturday. Here's hoping!

Congrats! Eating in new ways is generally a good way to "change up" your dietary habits, and to help you pay good attention to your nutrition :D
I wanted to congratuhug you on the new jeans, and I was wondering if you blame those dance sessions, or if you think it is the combination of everything you are doing.
Keep doing the stuff you are proud of, it helps! ;)

Last night we went out for dinner. I was hungry for Fish Fry... since I hadn't had a decent fish fry in forever! I noticed there are no real little diners around here anywhere... kind of annoying. It's all these fast food chains. Hmm.. Anyway... we found this little cafe in the woods and had dinner there. Instead of having the usual battered fish fry with fries... we had our fish in pasta sauce. It was actually pretty good but the waitress didn't bother to tell us we'd order the $12 chef's special instead of the $8 fish entree on the menu. Well... We're not going back.

Gotta start going back to the gym. I want to wait a couple days and make sure this stupid cough goes away. I don't want to turn it into like... Bronchitis. That was NO fun last year. So far so good. Still a little coughing and a little sore but not as much. I'm pumping myself full of High Fructose Corn Syrup Cough Medicine in hopes that it will eventually give in.

Not that this is related to weight loss or health in any possible way but I had a really cool dream last night/this morning. I dreamt I was in some city I didn't really know at all with like... 50 people I didn't know. We were split into groups of maybe 5 or 7 people and went on a scavenger hunt. We were looking for some DVD. It was really weird but I was having a grand old time. *giggleS* Silly dreamers!

Well... I don't know what to do now.
Thanks for the encouragement Q! You rock! *HUGGLES*

Oops, I Did It Again...

Okay so I messed up on the No-Meat March Madness! Oh well! We went to the buffet place after church. I ended up having like... one scoop of sphagetti with sauce... two cheese biscuits and a slice of turkey. That was all I had. Well... except for a chocolate chip cookie for dessert!

*Dances happily*

lol, your dream is awesome!

It's great reading over your diary entries, I always seem to get a smile out of them. ;)

I really sympathize with your bad waitress experience, and would likely have taken it out of her tip; just because I HATE that sort of thing. It's not good service, and that is what the tip represents. I'm a 20% tipper, most of the time, and anyplace I eat regularly has to have GREAT service. It's nice when they remember me. :D

I'm a tipper too. That's how a lot of people really make their living and I feell like, if they do a decent job, then they should get a decent tip. If I was a waitress or whatever, I'd want the same thing. It's only fair!

Okay... all the studies say that the people who eat breakfast in the mornings have a better chance at weight loss as well as having more energy during the day. What happens to those people who CAN'T eat breakfast? I can't. I have to wait a couple hours after I get up to eat ANYTHING... or else I seriously get sick. Does it still count later on in the morning?

Ok. It's 6:30 am and the temperature is at zero. It's FREEZING in here... and my center isn't closing... or even having a delay. Great. Just great. Let's just take all our one year olds and younger (Who can't even shiver yet!) into the BITTER COLD! Wonderful!

I like being part of the gym and all the neat equipment at your feet... but sometimes... Especially when I'm feeling particularly fat and ugly... It's nice to be able to do some workouts at home instead. Last year I was really into the whole walking/jogging thing. I bought a DVD that was exactly that and did it most every night for about three months until the weather improved enough that I could get out and walk. Lately... sad to say... I've been lacking. We haven't been to the gym in like 2 weeks (Cause we were sick... *cough*)... and we've kind of been couch potatoes. Today I got it in my mind I was going to do SOMETHING. ANYTHING. I ended up doing a mile walk show for about 20 minutes... and man... do I feel good. My thighs are burning and it's something I've been craving and didn't even realize it. YAY!

I've also noticed that I'm still not eating as much as I used to. And when I do eat more than I should... it's always fruit or salad. I was reading somewhere about recording the foods you eat and how they make you feel. Like if they make you sleepy or make you feel energized. It's kind of enlightened me and made me a little more conscious about what I eat.

So anyway... That's where I am. *Sigh*
