Weight Loss Journey for Feeling Gooder

One legged exercises.... Maybe hopscotch?

I've found walking doesn't cause any pain so at least back to being able to get a little cardio when I go for a coffee at lunch or go for a stroll before/after work.

Knee is still wonky when I put any weight on the front of it but I think it's starting to get at least a little better. Must...be....patient

Yep...be patient...Thats the best route. That way you don't reinjure it and start over.

In the mean time...think out of the box.

Enjoyed a great weekend and got some projects around the house done while also getting outside to cut, split, and stack lots of firewood.

Evenings are getting cooler now so getting to enjoy the final product of all that sweat and effort when we light the fireplace in the evenings.

Weight back down a little over a pound and body fat % also back down a notch. Knee still bothering me when I kneel down but otherwise I can still chase my daughter around so it's improving

Glad to hear its a bit better. Good job doing what you can do.

Maybe you have turned a corner on the knee thing.

I bet you fire up your fireplace way before I do....supposed to be 93 here today....ugggg

Yep, have been firing up the fireplace for about a week now in the evening for a few hours but still gets warm during the day.

Jumped on the scale this morning to see that I had dropped a couple pounds since yesterday, if only I could live a week full of Mondays (never thought I type that) I seem to eat out of boredom over the weekend. Doing well on maintaining the weight loss even with limited exercise but been holding within 5 pounds of my current weight for quite some time and would be nice to move down to the low 220's high 210's by the end of next month.

Sometimes the ol body seems to want to hang on to a certian weight. for the last 2 years mine has liked 283-285 (right where I am now unfortunately) I have hit the 270s breifly but not for long. I hope this time to get a bit of distance between me and the 280s. I would really like to see 260s on the scale before Thanksgiving. But if I am just headed down no matter how slowly, I am happy. Good job sheding a few even with little exercise

Thanks Brawny,

Overall, I'm quite happy to hang out near this weight for a while. At times, I'm sure I have a mental block that kicks in whenever I see 226 on the scale that tells me not to dip below 225. Can't really call it a plateau as I haven't focused on getting past the mental aspects but amusing at times. One or two weeks of focus and I'd see that 224.99999.

And thanks Brawny and Sarah for reminding me that it's important for ourselves and the forum as a whole for us all to make time to read through the list of diaries from time to time to welcome the new and returning folks.

I know I owe them both a great deal for constantly reading this rambling mess and offering support and helpful suggestions which has been very helpful to me, especially during the frist few months when I started here 9 months ago.

Thank you so much for sharing Feel Gooder! You're doing an amazing job, I can't believe how much you have accomplished since January.

I love your goals. I've always wanted to do a sprint triathlon, but have only participated in a team, where I did the swimming, it was quite an experience. Great work and keep sharing!!!

(now I'm off to share the questions you shared, that i think you got from sarah)

Sometimes I go to the newbies thread and just pick out a couple to say welcome to.....amazing how many just post once.

Kind of an interesting phenomenomenomenom... it's almost like the forum is a living organism between the new folks who join, those who wander off and those that fade in and out.

Some months it grows, others it shrinks, and more it holds the same... kind of like all of us except the forum gets better when it gains.

heh, reading that this morning and it looks like I already grabbed a few :)

Putting a solid week in so far this week but my Mon-Thurs usually consist of being on track. I try to do my weigh in on Sunday or Monday as it helps remind me that I should take it relatively easy on the weekend even if it doesn't always work out that way.

I took a peak at the scale this morning and saw it read 226.4 which is getitng close to that 225 number that's been evading me for a while now. Maybe by recording it here and using it the 225 as motivation it'll help avoid a 2-3 pound setback on the weekend :)

Enjoy the journey

Hey FG, thanks for the poke, I've been wallowing in self-pity (it can get comfy there, let's face it!).

Good on ya for getting your knee back together, maybe it's time for me to get some challenges to myself, as you're doing.

And I'm with ya on the feeling of working hard outside. I was splitting wood a couple weeks ago, and my wife and almost-2-yr-old daughter were nearby on the swing, cheering me on. I took a little breather to come over and push the swing. Cora said, while pointing back at the woodpile, "No! Daddy... chop-chop." Sigh... guess I gotta get back to splitting wood, eh kiddo?

Hey John, it definitely can get too comfy there so good on you for snapping back.

Knee is continuing to improve and my daughter is cute about it. She keeps asking me if my knee is better so I can 'run fast and play tag' around the back garden.

Got tricked into going to a vegetarian restaurant for lunch...

No meat?? Now I need to go find a steak to get the taste of veggies out of my mouth...

Time to hand in that man card I guess...

Hey feelinggooder! I won't be around much over the next week, so I wanted to drop in and say thanks for your continued motivation! Looks like you are back on the weightloss hunt and finding it! 225 can't be too far away...and by the way, weekends have a way of helping us regenerate...even if it means a few pounds up to be followed by a few pounds down! Keep up the good work!

Sarah

Aha! Made it through the weekend without going overboard. Held onto the Thursday weigh in at 226.4 through to Sunday and managed to get quite a few hours in clearing brush with nothing more than a set of manual loppers.

Builds up quite a sweat and it's nice to see the difference each hours out there can make. Have been knocking down brush and clearing a nice trail that goes back a few hundred feet from the back of the lawn. Like Little John, I'm thinking about pushing back the lawn a little more. Once the land is cleared of brush it's becoming a real pain to keep under control but if I can convert it to grass it'll just mean a bit longer on the riding lawn mower to cut it.

So have rehit my lowest weight since college days so the challenge for this month is to see if I can drop it a bit lower.

Congrats dude. back to playin weight! Alright then!

Also your vegetarian restaurant story reminded me of something that happened when I was a kid that shows how carnivorus I was raised:

So my mom got on a health kick and cooked us some vegeterian spagetti.....I took a couple of bites and asked her "Mom are we poor"?
