Weight Loss for the Redneck Charger..

I really like wheat grass juice, but I didn't even know they had the tablets; I'll keep an eye out for them. Wheat grass juice (when you can get it) is so good for you, and it's really tasty; but not an "every day" sort of thing for me.
I got the tablets at a health store in Ottawa.. The ones I got are capsules.. made out of wheat grass.. they are gree..and look like pills.. You can get them in tablets.. but there's more to them, then wheatgrass.. I'll try and remember to write down the name on the bottle one of these mornings for you..

I think I am just too lazy to do the smoothies thing, at least at home. I don't mind getting a huge one at a shop, though. I know they have a lot of calories, but I always go for the ones with just fruit, no yogurt or fats added. I figure they are better for me than whatever else I might get when I am out and about ;)

I also love to get sushi for a snack, when I am wandering the town. :D

Had a fruit smoothie this morning, consisting 2 bananna's a orange.. handful of blueberries, and raspberries.. some flax seed.. and a wheat grass capsule.. a kiwi.. and some frozen rubarb.. was delicous.. had that for breaki.. along with some 12 grain toast..

For lunch I had a tuna sandwich with chopped apple in it.. a couple bottle of water..

For supper I had meatloaf, some mashed potatoes.. 2 yogourts.. a bananna.. and now having a glass of water..

I see the doctor tuesday morning.. Thats my day Bud..
Have a good one..

It doesn't sound too bad, foodwise. I am a big fan of 12 grain bread; I love that stuff. I figure it has to be sugary or something, but it has to still be better than white (which is my other preference for bread).

Did you specifically avoid the dairy today? I don't see any mentioned until evening, did it make a difference in how your lungs feel?

12 grain bread is suppose to be the BEST.. a friend of mine who is a nurse.. says that 12 grain bread is the best for diabetic's also..

Nope.. the tightness in my chest just doesn't go away.. I wish it would, cuz I am missing the gym big time..

Hey fellow Canuckster

Hi Charger...didn't know you're a fellow Canuckster til I read your whole thread. I'm in Saskatchewan.

Could that tightness in your chest be asthma? My sons complain of that when their asthma is not under control. It's usually controlled by meds (puffer). One of my sons gets red in the face and hot and they've BOTH got asthma...had it for years. Their specialist once told me asthma is simply the height of allergies...it's simply another allergy, only the worst kind obviously. I thought that was interesting. I wonder if you should go to a specialist and do a cardio-pulmonary test? It's where they get you to blow really hard and fast into a tube to measure your lung capacity. I would never NEVER gamble on tightness in the chest. Get it checked out...please

Your eating habits sure look healthy and tasty!! Chopped apples in a tuna sandwich...kew-el!

Hey there 2skinny..
yeah I got asthma.. also fought lung cancer a few years ago.. On a new drug (miricle drug) called XOLAIR.. it's a needle.. I get it twice a month.. (every2 weeks) $2000 every 2 weeks.. For example when I started this new drug.. I blew out 39%.. second time (every month I blow in this machine) I blew 41%.. then I blew 57%..and last time I blew 61%.. I am now (well not lately since my hospital visit) I was running up and down the stairs 4 or 5 times.. with no breathing probs.. Up till the needle.. I'd probably only be able to run up them once..and be sucking on the ventolin for hours afterwards.. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday morning.. if it worsens.. I promice I will head to the hospital..

Oh my goodness

Ah, Redneck, I see. I didn't realize it's much worse than asthma. I'm very sorry to hear of your bout with lung cancer. So all the puffers, nebulizers, and pulomary tests are old hat to you. :(

I'll be checking your thread to see how you're doing.

Nothing like a good breakfast

Yah, I was suberply ready for Friday. What a dumb-f_k week it was for me. Alas, it is just my work, and now I am home with puppy and my sons. I'm going to take puppy out for a good walk. He's not really a puppy...he's a big gigantic standard poodle that looks like an Airdale Terrier or Bouvier because I let his hair grow long. Rufus. A true friend and a lovely creature to come home to.

I love a good breakfast now and then. I'm glad Xolair meant you could go off the puffers.

Have a nice evening Red.

Heart of gold.. just not too smart.. and I got a Huskey/Lab and her name is Blue.. Unfortunaly.. don't walk them alot.. open the door and fire them out.. have 5 acres they run on.. except Retard.. Gotta chain him up or he's gone.. he escapes often..and after several hours he comes home.. Good thing.. when he get's loose.. the other 2 girls follow him..and they all stick together..

Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend.. Mine was ok.. very very busy.. Relaxed kinda Saturday.. went to the hockey game where Ottawa beat Buffalo.. Barely.. So that is done..

For breakfast today I had a smoothie which consist of kale.. dandelion.. spinich.. sage (which is good for helping with moods) some grounded flex seed.. some blueberries.. grapefruit.. a orange.. and a bananna and had 2 pieces of 12 grain toast..

I'm on days today at work.. so my meals may be a little screwed up today.. But will do what I can..

Qjay.. I wrote about the wheatgrss pills.. Hope ya got it Bud..

I haven't picked them up yet, but I am going to do my shopping tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out for them, that's for sure; wheatgrass is good stuff. It's not like they'll be BAD for me ;)

Do you have anyone helping out with your mother? I know when my grandmother was to the point where she couldn't take care of herself alone, she was able to get a caregiver who would come by her house daily and spend a few hours making sure everything was all right and they medications were set, and if some help was needed with household chores, that would get taken care of, as well.
It was a good program, and it was not expensive (covered by insurance or state benefits). Does Canada do anything like that?

It looks like you are back on your program very steadily! That's always a good thing, I am kinda iffy right now for what I am managing to get into me. I was so far under on calories for the last two days, I just had some M&M's. Weird.

Hey, when you add dandelion to your smoothie, what part do you add? Leaf? Blossom? Root?

Funny

Love your dog's name Retard...lol.
Sounds like you're eating on plan, Red, good on ya.
It's heartwarming to hear a guy taking such good care of his mom...I know my sons will be there for me if I ever need, although they like to tease me and say they're going to put me in a home...lol
