Weight Lifting

Hi guys,
I started GYM like 2 weeks ago. I weigh 148 LB. Height is 5'3. My main aim is to lose weight and become kinda in tone. I run for like 30 minutes at 5 miles/hr on treadmill. I have a question. How long will it be till i see some physical results. Also should i also start lifting weights too. What do u guys suggest?

r u a gal or a guy..n y r u running only at 5mph..the aim is to significantly pump up ur heart-rate..im not sure if 5mph does that really......i run around 7.5-8
 
Also remember its not all about weight lifting, cardio, and training.... You need a nice diet, and not eat junk food, and fast foods...

I am actually watching what i m eating. so what do u guys think. How much time will it be till i can see the results. Also should i start lifting weights too to lose the fat and get toned or should i wait for a little while till i get a little more fit??

Hi, how often do you train? Your body will react to the first training session you complete. If you exercise 3-4 days a week you will notice results after the first week. Your body will become more efficient at the exercises it is attempting.
Longer term effects such as cardiovascular adaptations and strength will take 6 weeks or more. it is probably advisable to change your exercises at least once in that time to force your body to adapt, rather than become more efficient.
 
yeah i goto gym almost everyday. Got ya. Yeah i m getting better at performing the run. I can now run for 33 minutues at 5 miles/hr without stoping. I am looking to lose the excess fat i have on my chest ahahahha. should i start lifting weight to do that??

If you are disciplined enough with your diet, you can expect to see results sooner. Do a search on these forums for clean diets - you have to do more than just not eat junk food to lose body fat.

Yes, start lifting weights immediately as it boosts your metabolism to burn even more fat.
